I am going to take out my first, newly built AR15 to the range this weekend and need help zeroing it.
I bought these sights from MidwayUSA. First thing I discovered that when the aperture line is lined up with the line on the rear sight, it is not an exact middle. I confirmed that by counting all the clicks from left to right and then counting back half way. Should I use the "half-way" method or line up the lines? I found these targets for zeroing in. If my barrel is 18" long, should I use the target for 20" or the one for shorter rifles? When I am zeroing in for 100 yards using this target, do I aim at the center of the silhouette and want the grouping to be in the middle of the circle (lower then center mass)? |

Point of aim is the BOLD CENTER LINE adjust sights until point of impact is the small circle below bold center line. I would then shoot at 100M to comfirm 100m zero. I have used these targets and they are on the money. Perfect! That's what I needed to hear. Thanks. |
