First let me preface this post by saying I do not have the budget nor the desire to purchase a high end red dot sight like Aimpoint or Trijicon.
Has anyone here had experience with the Vortex Strikefire Red Dot? I'm looking to buy one but would like a little more reassurance before I spend the money. This would be more mid range in price for me at $170. High end (and a bit of a stretch) would be more like a Bushnell Zoom Dot at about $100 more. Obviously I want something reliable, but inexpensive at the same time. So what would be the best red dot for about $200 (maybe a little more)? |

I just got mine and I love it so far . I was in the same boat as you as far as budget . I did alot of research and found the Strikefire to be what i wanted . This review I found helped push me over the edge http://gunreviewguy.blogspot.com/2012/03/vortex-strikefire-red-dot-optic-review.html?spref=fb . Hopefully it helps you as well . I also heard that their customer service is top-notch . Helps that they are located in the same state as me too lol .
Good luck with whatever you choose ! |
You might also want to take a look at the Vortex SPARC:![]() http://www.opticsplanet.net/vortex-sparc-red-dot-sight-sprc.html I didn't use the 2x magnifier as much as I thought I would, it really reduced the field of view. Comes with a mount, bikini lens covers and the 2X magnifier. Here's the review that convinced me to buy mine: http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_2_277/187104_.html Mark H. |
| I was also looking for a cheaper optic and ended up getting the primary arms 30mm multi retical. It is similar to the strikefire but has 4 different reticals.I would have liked it to also have green but wasn't a deal breaker. It was $118 with high cantalever mount shipped to my door.Got it mounted up today and looks great.I'm looking for a magnifier now.Just my 2 cents hope it helped. |
