Originally I wanted iron sights, with no ears. Great FOV, fairly durable, no parallax. ;) However, this has no magnification and can't be used for medium-distance shooting.
Alternatively I considered Aimpoint with Jpoint on top. But I can't find an aimpoint with 4x magnification, and 3x or 4x separates are both bulky and add weight.

My thought is that a 2.5-16x scope with JPoint mounted on the side would give the best compromise from being able to do long-range shooting and short, on a single rifle.

However, there are some problems:
#1, The jpoint gets a very limited FOV, primarily because of the top scope turret.
#2, Scopes are heavy.

Any thoughts?

EDIT:
I just had a crazy idea. I don't know if they make one, but I could put the Jpoint above the top turret. Being higher can't be worse than being high *and* to the side, like the photo I just posted. Just have to make sure I can access the turret. Thoughts?

Personal preference and all that.

I don't like it mounted that high i prefer the offset mounts.

If you like irons and a scope at the same time have you considered offset sights such as these?
KAC sights
