Look at the bottom, there is an FAQ, check the response to question 13.

Bottom line, no problem.

You can only imagine I have lots of NV gear and travel at times.  I have not had any issues with NVD's exposed to any X-Ray equipment via the airports.  For precautionary ALWAYS take the batteries out!  You WILL find the moment your NVD goes through the x-ray, "everybody and their brother" will crowd around from TSA and start asking you a barrage of questions.  You should have seen the looks on their faces when I sent a bag full of NV Rifle scopes, MUMS, couple of lasers etc.  "Ah, Sir what may I ask this gear is for?"  My response, "Well to see in the dark of course!"  Seriously, expect no problems from the X-ray machine, but DO expect the TSA folks to pull you aside to examine the NVD. When they are examining your gear, insure you tell them the price of the gear beforehand so they handle it with kid gloves!  The last time I traveled, I had a TSA about to open the lens cover on a D-760 by holding it upside down and he started to shake the scope all with one hand! (YIKES ) I then VERY politely informed him that the total amount of $$ in my bag including that scope was about $15,000! His handling demeanor changed drastically!  Hope this helps,

Vic

Edited to add,  I would also suggest to always CARRY-ON your NVD.  Just to darn expensive for the unit to disappear.  The above scenerio talked about is with carry-on bag type security.

That would be almost funny if it weren't for my fear of airport bagage handlers.

Man I hate those TSA pogues...  Only 1 in 4 seems to know how to handle a freakin' firearm when I check it with them.  The other three are usually either 1) seemingly afraid to touch it   or 2) all too happy to monkeygrip the thing without regard for what they do with it.  If I was flying with that much NV gear, I'd probably have an aneurism just watching them...
