Anyone know if Airport baggage screening X-rays will damage NVDs?

Look at the bottom, there is an FAQ, check the response to question 13.

Bottom line, no problem.

"The last time I traveled, I had a TSA about to open the lens cover on a D-760 by holding it upside down and he started to shake the scope all with one hand! (YIKES ) I then VERY politely informed him that the total amount of $$ in my bag including that scope was about $15,000! His handling demeanor changed drastically!  Hope this helps,"

That would be almost funny if it weren't for my fear of airport bagage handlers.

Man I hate those TSA pogues...  Only 1 in 4 seems to know how to handle a freakin' firearm when I check it with them.  The other three are usually either 1) seemingly afraid to touch it   or 2) all too happy to monkeygrip the thing without regard for what they do with it.  If I was flying with that much NV gear, I'd probably have an aneurism just watching them...
