Anyone had a chance to try these newly manufactured magazines that Brownells now offer?  They sure hype them up in thier catalog, but I was curious if they function as well as they say.

I'd suspect they are the usual commercial junk. Why buy anything but new USGI, you can get them for as low $12.50 now if you buy in bulk (10 or more).

I have one, and so far it seems to work OK.  I have only had a chance to put about 60 rds out of it though.  I'll let you know if I have any problems.

Well Brownells is suppose to be quality stuff.  I just noticed that they hype thier stuff a little more than the next guy, so curiosity got the best of me.   Where did you see the USGI mags for $12.50?

Still to early to pass a broad judgement....

But I have heard several good reports on them.

I have seen one and it appears to be of "mil spec USGI" quality.

i went  topurchase one and the system kicked an email to me:
"** NOTES **  078-000-132 CAN ONLY BE PURCHASED BY
            LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES ON DEPT.
            LETTER HEAD                         "

total b.s. it was for a 20 rounder.

I have also been wondering if they are as good as Brownells says they are.  It seems like they spent alot of time trying to make them perfect.  Supposedly they had one manufactuer make a bunch and after they tested them they did not like them and choose another manufactuer and tested the hell out of them.  They have a milspec mag and a mag with a silicone spring which isn't supposed to set.  I'm going to buy a couple this week and find out how good they are and coming from Brownells I would imagine they are good.

I've bought 3 of the 30 rders.  the fit and make of the magazine is as good as my mil spec ones.  it has green follower and have so far gone thru  10 uses of 30 rds . including 3 mag dumps on FA.  All perform well without hiccups

good stuff and the price is right,.

Sorry, $13.50 it was, if you buy 10 NHMTG 20 rounders, $14 ea for the 30 rounders singly. HERE And Eagle Firearms is one of the good guys.

How much are the Brownell mags?

The Brownells mags are super. Great finish, silicone wire spring, green follower. They worked like a charm and now they have them on 10% off sale. I got a dozen and function tested them. Not a single problem. I am going to get some more and vacuum seal those bad boys in case the gun grabbers are re-elected.

Their floorplates are junk. I replaced mine with USGI floorplates. I would rather spend my $$ on USGI magazines.

I tried one.  It fit in my Colt and LMT lowers but was much too tight in my Eagle arms receiver.
I dropped a Magpul follower in and it did not go to the top of the mag, was too tight even when pushed.
I'm sticking to GI mags.

I think they're great.

Work spectacularly in my Ameetec Lower.
