I am new to the ar world. I just got my ar and was trying to sight it in with generic 556 ammo. I was getting about 8inch groups at a 100 yards. Switched to vmax 223 and achieved a 2 inch group. Is this all ammo related?is there that much difference in ammo. Btw I am shooting a 16inch psa upper on ps lower. Thanks for yalls advice.

Garbage ammo gives garbage groups. High quality ammo gives high quality groups. Use the nice stuff for zeroing and competitions, blast tin cans and fruit with the cheap stuff.

Yes, there can be that much of a difference, but no, it's not because of the 5.56/.223 difference.
