Finally got my first Gordy clone done.
Its a copy of the movie prop sort of. I have a more accurate one in the works. (I need the damn form 1 to clear, and get a carry handle mount for it.) In the meantime enjoy this pile of parts. the optic is an old primary arms aimpoint clone. Also thinking about ditching the 3 piece collar and going back to the M4 collar, looks a little more like the movie set up to my eye. Thoughts?\

Imin the same boat. I recently got an LMT 37mm and cant mount it cuz no mounts anywheres. Like why don't these come with mounts from factory?

Bro, I dunno....I do know that LMT had some and they were part of a kit and they had both rifle and carbine kits. Shitty thing is they were $400 - $500 kits. Thats insane to me and then you add in that LMT had some QC issues where machining marks were evident in the 37mm launcher eceivers and when customers asked about it LMTs response was something allegedly along the lines of "yeah we are aware and we dont care. We made these just to get them out because our real customers are not people that are shooting just high dollar fireworks". It was not me that was told be LMT but it was relayed to me by someone it happened to. At that point I was like well fuuuuuuck you to then LMT. I do have my 203FL and I have not had the chance to open my box and inspect it but I suppose whatever it looks like is what I am stuck with. Off to the EE I go for a WTB post. |

Thanks that’s what I was thinking, I know a lot of people go to the tear drop just because it looks cool. I have a line on a big button so going that route. Any guesses on the dust cover being a a1 or a2?

There is no "standard" for what kind of forward assist an A2/FS upper might have had, all four variants have been seen in use during this era. Kyle Lamb's R0723 had a teardrop and Brad Halling's had a "Small Button" / A2, both A2/FS upper with case deflectors. That being said, "Big Button" or "Cut Button"/"D" is the correct forward assist for that particular rifle, but it is inconclusive whether it was an A1 or A2 forging; ejection port cover is A2. ~Augee |

 Well I thought the M4 collar would work but with a single crush washer, it bottoms out before the threads grab. Might need to call Ron and have him make me a custom collar for where the step is positioned on this barrel. Or I could stack some washers and see if that works... |

Here is my work in progress. Needs to be repainted but waiting on the pressure switch to come in. Only thing I’m not really happy with is the light mount, not sure if I should just drill the handguard and attach a piece of rail there.

Got my Gordon build out to the range yesterday……M4can was outstanding……..lot quieter than I was expecting………lotsa fun to shoot…..not 100%retro, PA 2.5 prism scope on the c7upper………my 53 yr old eyes……….lol……

Concur. I ran my A2 in ‘03 with a 550 chord loop through the FSP A frame and a doubled up loop of 550 taped with 100mph tape around the stock. It’s almost like the sling loops being on the bottom of the gun are retarded for actual combat use. |

Forgot to post an update. The AEM5-M4 collar was the right medicine for my 12.5-inch rebuild. I know most aren't too hot on OCL but they had the part in stock and I just figured Ron had bigger fish to fry sorting out custom work.
  Time to get it back on the range for some drills, see how she goes. |
