All,
I have a reproduction 601 grenade ring that I am installing on an old Colt SP1 rifle (pencil barrel).  I am also mounting one of John Thomas' reproduction duckbill flashiders on the front.  Question: do I install a crush washer between the two or leave it off?  Many thanks.

So, barrel, then crush washer first,, then grenade ring, then flashider?
My crush washer does not fit into the grenade ring to allow it to go in between the barrel and the grenade ring.

Many thanks for the replies.  I got it now.  Unfortunately, being "correct" in this hobby can lead to a certain madness, I am finding out.  Now that I have the correct washer, flashider, and grenade ring, I really need the correct marked barrel with the cast front sight base.  It is kind of bugging me to place these cool repro parts on my C MP C barrel with the forged front sight base.  Oh sure, the flashing is removed, but ....  We can't really go run out to Wal-Mart and pick up these items.  Thus, the  continuing searches on the EE, gunbroker, and wondering when the spouse is going to notice the various withdrawals from the checking account.  My son doesn't really need to go to college, does he?

The retro forum is a little bit like a chapter of AA that has an open bar  All kidding aside, thanks for the fast responses.  Best,
Megaro.
