My 9.3" MK16 is definitely darker than the one that came on my stripped 14.5" URG-I
|
|
The ano on these are definitely darker than the usual DDC. The rail color is nearly identical to that of a B5 coyote.

|
My 13.5" and both Charging handles have NSN numbers but my 9.3" MK16 rail doesn't
Did anyone get a NSN Numbered 9.3" Rail? |

Anyone know if the 13.5" will cover a rifle length gas block? The best I can tell is that'll be close, possibly have .2-.25 inches of play.

Anyone run a 10.1 barrel on the shorty yet? Tempted to see what that looks like with a can.

My grey 13.5" Mk16 just came in today. It looks great.
I spent the weekend researching barrels for this build, fixated on doing a 14.5" setup like the URG-I. What's everyone else doing for barrels? I don't care about being clone correct as i'll be using a BE Meyers ASR flash hider. Aesthetically I think a 14.5" would look great, and I'll be moving my Vortex Razor over to this build when it's done. Thoughts from others? |

I see why they made it 9.3" but it doesn't look good to me. Their 13.5" is also about .25" short for a 14.5" barrel. A barrel cut to exactly 10.10“ would be perfect.

Ah I'm tracking. Looking at DD's govt 14.5 it's definitely thicker in the front. Whereas a lot of folks are offering more of a consistent taper from back to front. It's what drew me to the BCM EHL in the first place. Rianier Arms Mountain Series midweight Was just looking at this. Looks like an FN produced CHF barrel. The ODG ACH is a great match for my ODG Colt tube. The ODG B5 SOPMOD looks kind of like a dark foliage green next to the other parts. Not the best lighting indoors on the workbench, unfortunately. I think anything but natural sunlight seems to make the matte finish on the Mk16 look more brown in photos. I was in a rush to compare them after the B5 stock arrived today ($61.75 from SKD’s BF sale).

Yeah, lighting’s funny like that. The other items in the photo, including the green craft mat, look pretty much like the color they are in person, but the handguard and ACH look off.

My OD B5 furniture got in today. I’m running a lighter green colt buffer tube and think in turned out just about perfect, I tried the darker green buffer tube and everything just looked black. T |
