Looking at getting my first AR-15; experienced shooter but never owned a black rifle (have shot them).  Considering getting a Colt LE 6920.  Any opinions/feedback?

Thanks in advance.

You can't go wrong with that rifle. That said the same or better performance can be reached  for a lower price with research and knowledge.

If you're ready to pull the trigger you won't beat this price

Damn that's a good deal. Even though I prefer to build, I think everyone should have atleast 1 colt in the stable.

Not quite ready to pull the trigger.  Trying to do the responsible thing and save for a few months...or at least while these prices are low.  May try to order one through the military exchange to get the best price.

Thank you for all the feed back!  Looks like I can't go wrong with the Colt LE 6920.  May try to order one through the military exchange to get the best price.  Any other recommendations?  I was going to go with a build, but after talking with some people, I thing buying my first already assmebed is the best for the budget.  Any recommendations for a solid first AR-15?  Here are some must haves:

-5.56mm/..223
-Foward assist
-Dust cover
-Crome Barrel

Thanks again for the gouge.

Get the Colt.  Dick around with the mall ninja brands later.  I have never been to an exchange that had very good firearm prices, even when you account for no tax.

I like mine. However I would rather a 1-9 twist barrel as apposed to the 1-7 mine came with.  Just easier to find 55 gr ammo vs. heavier stuff for the 1-7.  I also changed the trigger and added a compensator.  The gun went from fun to shoot to I can't believe I went through that much ammo in such a short time fun!

THIS. Didn't buy Colt because I bought that 1/9 if you're going to shoot nothing but 55gr there's no reason to get a 1/7 BS. I recently bought myself a colt upper and it has no problem with 55 gr so unless you're using your 1/9 rifle to shoot lighter weight 45 gr soft points I'd recommend 1/7. I get 1 inch groups out of my Colt top half without trying too hard with a carry handle iron 55 gr AE 223 at 50 yards.

ETA: I bought the Colt upper to piece together a Colt rifle and so I can shoot 75 gr Hornandy TAPs.
