This is an awesome thread and I'm glad you guys are happy with Chad I will order from him. Where can I gather info on the cage code or manuf code and part number that I want to put on my Colt M4A1 I just bought Friday.

Thanks Jay

This post has everything I need to know about getting the right sticker and the right info. Thanks. But which one do I get. I see pictures of rifles with the rectangular tags and carbines with the square tag. IDK which to put on which rifle I have.

Thanks Jay

It's personal preference. In general, rectangle stickers were earlier and squares came later. I think it's up to the logistics guys which is ordered and either is accepted in DoD inventory control.

A few years ago there were some SOC rifles brought into the US. I've looked around and some of these rifles have a "Property of SOC" UID sticker on them.

Found this one on Facebook in a post about Marines training at Camp Lejune in Bold Alligator 17.

Chad is great. I've ordered UID labels from him a couple of times and he's helping me with some custom SOC labels now. Amazing guy to deal with.

OH I would be in for some of those SOC labels! I wanna clone the Iraq WASR AK bring backs. I have a spare WASR I wouldn't mind tossing one on.

Just ordered a .75" label for the Brownells COLT M4 Carbine lower I just bought. Curious to see how these compare to the ones I got from the clone thread some time back. The data matrix looks smaller on these but hey!

While it's not a 100% rule:

Older guns that have been through re-arsenal and refurb typically have rectangular labels (often with TACOM CAGE codes), while most newer, factory guns tend to have square or circular tags.

Still learning about the UID codes and have read every post here. I have the cage# but how does one find the part number?  I have a DD MK18 upper with Adcor Lower.

Thanks.

Does anybody know the proper codes and part number for Mark 12 Mod 0 and Mark 12 Mod 1 rifles?

I don't think it'd be a terrible idea to compile a list of all known part numbers and put them at the top of this topic.

Oh....CAGE codes for...

Many manufacturers have CAGE codes besides Colt & FN. Do a Google search and you'll often find they're registered.

A quick research with the mod0 NSN (if it’s even correct!) gave me this

Nothing with the mod1 NSN (again not even sure it’s the right one)

The correct lower for a CQBR would be an M4A1, so in general you'd want to use 12972700 as the part number (M4A1) and the Colt cage code or a depot cage code (if you're not using a cage code from the manufacturer of your particular lower). If you were trying to build one of the Navy 18-1 struck M4A1 lowers, not sure if they have a part number for that beyond the M4A1 part number. It's still an M4A1 lower either way.

Crane NSWC's CAGE code is 5ZJP7 but that doesn't give me the part no. for the mk 12 mod 1 yet.

Still, it's something.

Heck, who would even care if I just made up a part number?  Take the Mod 0 number and add 1 to it, call it a day.

Aero Precision has a Cage Code
1WXY6

To each his own, just me being nitpick, using an FN Cage is an interesting choice.

Personally I go 1337 speak 5 character abbreviation if I can't find a Cage

In example, 43R0P

Alternatively I incorporate company & state abbreviation if I can't get a good phonetic in 5 characters. My Spike's Cage is 57FL4 (Spikes Tactical FLorida Apopka)

Whoever compiled that list has entirely too much time on their hands. Oh wait....

NOTE: I used some CAGE code lookup site to find these. I would verify them with other sources before ordering labels or engraving.

Can read the small QR on colts reveivers but not on the label.

Can you post a pic?
CLW doesn't use milspec encoding exactly (missing a couple non-ASCII characters), so they won't work with a .MIL scanner. Or are you just using a phone or something?
