This is an awesome thread and I'm glad you guys are happy with Chad I will order from him. Where can I gather info on the cage code or manuf code and part number that I want to put on my Colt M4A1 I just bought Friday.
Thanks Jay |

This post has everything I need to know about getting the right sticker and the right info. Thanks. But which one do I get. I see pictures of rifles with the rectangular tags and carbines with the square tag. IDK which to put on which rifle I have.
Thanks Jay |
|
|
It's personal preference. In general, rectangle stickers were earlier and squares came later. I think it's up to the logistics guys which is ordered and either is accepted in DoD inventory control.

Chad is great. I've ordered UID labels from him a couple of times and he's helping me with some custom SOC labels now. Amazing guy to deal with.
|
|
|
OH I would be in for some of those SOC labels! I wanna clone the Iraq WASR AK bring backs. I have a spare WASR I wouldn't mind tossing one on.
Just ordered a .75" label for the Brownells COLT M4 Carbine lower I just bought. Curious to see how these compare to the ones I got from the clone thread some time back. The data matrix looks smaller on these but hey! |

Still learning about the UID codes and have read every post here. I have the cage# but how does one find the part number? I have a DD MK18 upper with Adcor Lower.
Thanks. |

If the correct info can be determined for a Mk 12 Mod 1 then I'll buy that, plus a few others as well.

Crane NSWC's CAGE code is 5ZJP7 but that doesn't give me the part no. for the mk 12 mod 1 yet.
Still, it's something. Heck, who would even care if I just made up a part number? Take the Mod 0 number and add 1 to it, call it a day. |

Personally I go 1337 speak 5 character abbreviation if I can't find a Cage In example, 43R0P Alternatively I incorporate company & state abbreviation if I can't get a good phonetic in 5 characters. I just wanted to chime in and say I bought a UID label from Carolina Laser Works as well, and was completely satisfied. Good product.

I don't know if it's just mine but the QR code doesn't work on the one from Carolina laser works.
Can read the small QR on colts reveivers but not on the label. |

Can you post a pic?
CLW doesn't use milspec encoding exactly (missing a couple non-ASCII characters), so they won't work with a .MIL scanner. Or are you just using a phone or something? |
