It's the socom 300sps. There were no rc2 or mini in stock neither 7.62 or 556. It will work well as I have ak as well as a 6.5 creed bolt gun in the works. It is around 7.8 or 7.9" long I think and the rc2 is 6.4 I believe.

Just for my own learning, is there a different adapter as I assume the four prongs are larger for bigger calibers or are they just reamed out?  There's a .338 Surefire in stock locally, the thing is huge.

My 6.5 and ak both use different adaptors. Ak has a 14x1mm lh warcomp. 6.5 has a 7.62 muzzlebrake. Block 1 has sfct 556 and my block II andvmy ris iii build both have 4 prong.

Can't speak to that behemoth, but the 7.62 SF cans will mate up and work on 5.56 mounts no problem.  Thread pitch of the adapter itself will vary based on model and can be host specific.

Lmao. The 7.62 rc2 is longer than this can ie my can by a whole half an inch. The 7.62 ti is the same length as this one.

Or were you referring to the 338 can?

Huh?  The 7.62 rc2 is certainly not bigger than the .338 in either length or girth lol.

I thought you were referring to my supressor as that was what he was asking about and said it looked big Originally compared to the rc2.. that's why if you looked I asked were you referring to my supressor or the 338..

Edit. Nevermind.. it never updated.. I got a call during typing.. sorry lol.. It is fixed now..

Ha sorry for the confusion. Only ever handled an rc2 once to check out a local members before buying one.  The 7.62 on your rifle looked bigger, more than the 1/2" you stated.  The .338 I didn't handle at the local shop but it looked pretty sizable.

The 5.56 rc2 is 6.4". My supressor is 7.8 or 7 9. The 7.62 rc2 is 8.4 or 8.5.

So my supressor is roughly 1.4 to 1.5" longer than a 5.56 rc2 and about .5" shorter than a 7.62 rc2

You could do it, you'd need a new roll pin but it would work. Only way someone would know the difference is the markings on the side

I went with a pri mount. From what I understand wilcox copied them. They're machine vs extruded, have a larger clamping area and a smaller footprint nut that is steel vs aluminum. Optics planet has them the cheapest if you decide to go that route. Here's the link...

I had a Wilcox on mine for a while. Honestly, I think it’s really overpriced for what it is.
I know I know clone and all but still…
The clamp doesn’t have a real way to get it tightened down aside from finger tight or using a tool; my cross bolt was long and a screwdriver/coin never worked.
Eventually I just went back to the qrp as I felt it seemed stronger overall
Just my $.02

It's for a side sling swivel. The older ones had this to adapt to a m4 barrel or a thinner barrel.

The double sided Started when they rolled out the m16a2 in the 80s. They were used for the m203 as it made the bottom sling swivel unaccessible. As the m4 and m16a2 were the standard rifle and the m16a2 was pretty out of service, there wasn't really a need for the double sided version as all barrels were the heavier profile.

Colt 1980's Sling Swivel Kit for the M16A2 and M16A1 Rifle.
These kits were also used on the early M4 and M4A1 Carbine.

Originally developed for the M16A2 Rifle for use with the M203 Grenade Launcher, this military side-mounting sling adapter (kit) will fit onto any barrel with a 0.750 front sight base, or 0.625 front sight base.

I don’t even know. There was also some tab thing with it that was maybe supposed to hook into a regular handguard or something. I took it off and just put the screw back on like Travis’s gun.

Quick search turned up an Arf thread. Guy said was supposedly for a brush guard but had never seen a pic of one.

Hot. I've got a wingless #38 EX coming in the mail and a wingless #22-M68 sitting around in a box looking for a NLS #17 base, guess I'm making a Force Recon clone too. M203 is gonna be a pain in the ass to find though.

Originally Posted By SecretSquirell:

It's for a brush guard. It's a little stamped tab that hangs down to prevent stuff from getting hooked underneath the extension. They had them on the #38 swan sleeves and the #39 gooseneck mount. They were originally designed for use with clamshell handguards, but when rails started becoming popular people found that they wouldn't fit and would usually remove them. They're actually pretty hard to find nowadays since most people threw them out.

I think it was mainly just Force Recon that used them. They also used the standard length #38.
