Hi friends,

I'm building my first AR15 in the worst time possible.. lol

I have a stripped upper receiver and a complete lower.

What do I need to complete the upper?

Barrel of course. I want to make it a mid length gas, so a mid length gas tube and gas block. Flash suppressor. Upper has a forward assist and dust cover already installed. Front sight blade?

Am I missing anything? Should I have a smith put it together or is it something I can do if I bought the tools?

Any advice from people with build experience will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

It's going to take more than just common tools but they are readily available. Start here. Should help you with most of what you'll need. You'll also need to decide if you want a hand guard, drop in quad or free float rail. That will determine a couple extra parts.

With the list you provided you still need a Bolt carrier group assy, A set of flip up sights, and a rail.

Do ypu already have a stock, buffer tube assy.. on the lower?

Sorry, this should be in the build it yourself section..

Thanks for the replies!

I have a complete BCG and a complete buffer tube assembly for the lower.

I am going to need hand guards and sights.

Thanks for the advice on tools!
