I found there site and they have uppers for 275.00 and 265.00. has anyone used one of these uppers? and what is the difference between the two?
uppers here |
| I bought one and it's alright. I had to replace the front sight post so that I can zero it, as the front sight base used by DSA is not the proper height for flattop receivers; some people have zeroed their uppers no problem, but be aware that it can be an issue. |
| there has been very favorable reports across the board, eccept for one i have seen,, of excellent reliability and very good accuracy. i have two myself,, both have worked out well, no complaints. the nitride finish is really good, from all i can gather about it, |

I had one and sent in back because it wouldn't cycle the bolt, so something obviously was plugged up somewhere. I sent it back two weeks ago and I called them today to check on the status and they told me that it would be probably another 4-5 weeks before they could get to it, so I just went ahead and had them give me a refund for it.
It took them four months to get it to me originally because they messed up my order, and I'm just tired of dealing with it. |

Ok, Thanks for the replies! Now what is Nitride??LOL! Nitride is a surface treatment (sorta/kinda like case hardening). It is a tough finish that sorta looks like dark parkerizing, the entire barrel (inside and out) are treated. There are several Nitride treatments, done differently. Some prefer Nitride to chrome, some do not, the jury is still out. SIG, Glock, LWRA, and several others use nitride so it is viable. I have 2 of the DSA uppers, a middy and the ZM4, both nitride. I am impressed so far. They both have been tested fairly hard so far and have performed flawless. We will see how they hold up in the future. Do a search (google, dogpile, yahoo) on nitride. It is tough as nails... |

I'll save you my story and just say that I believe it, I've been there, and I can't blame you. |
