Hello all, I am still working on my M4GERY.....almost done. I basically need a light then I am done. I would like to request some M4GERY pics if you got them to get the finishing touches right. I have searched but I cannot find the M4gery picture thread anymore. ETA: Here I will post pics of mine when completed, but here is what I have so far: 1.) Colt Lower (forget the model but the one that says "M4 Carbine" on the receiver) with correct stock body. 6920 complete upper. ETA: Colt MT6400C Lower 2.) KAC Rails, VFG and Panels 3.) Aimpoint M3 2moa with QRP mount, bikini cover and kill flash. (aimpont tied to rails) ETA: Switched to a Comp M2 4.) insight PEQ 5.) Matech BUIS The only thing that is not "M4gery" is my 16" barrel, I didnt want to hassle with sbr paperwork for 14.5" Any advice, reminder, suggestion for my m4gery build would be appreciated and welcomed. Mine: "The Kool-Aid"   Colt LE 6520 Gov't Carbine lower Colt RO 6921HB M4A1 14.5" upper SDI Extended A2 FH Colt M16 BCG KAC M4 RAS with panels and VFG ITI AN/PEQ2A mount (no clue why I bought this! Don't own a PEQ or a PAQ, but a vendor at Knob Creek was letting them go for $10 each!) Surefire M951 Trijicon TA31F 4x32 ACOG also has a MATECH BUIS now, as well. "The Franken-Gun"   These photos are somewhat older, but the carbine is basically in the same configuration, save for a couple of differences. Haven't had a chance to take new pictures yet. Double Star Lower LMT SOPMOD 5 pos. RET LMT SOPMOD stock (it jumps back and forth between issued weapons, and the two M4geries) CMMG 14.7" MOD M4 upper w/ perm A2 FH Colt "C-Section" SA AR15 BCG Aimpoint ML2 (M68CCO-ish, the M68 is the M2/4 version with NV capabilities) MATECH BUIS KAC M4 RAS Surefire M951 The Surefire in the two photos is the same one, the CCO equipped M4gery now has a Surefire 6P mounted in a TRG ring. And here's a quick comparison between a 14.5" barrel and the 14.7" the decision is yours which you think works better.  ~Augee |

Advice? Go for the tax stamp (If you can) & get the 14.5". You know you want it. Here's my attempt at matching your list, using things laying around the vault.

It's been a while since we've seen the KAC handguards. You just had to sneak the Larue PEQ mount in there didn't you. Very sweet rifle sir! |
Ran out of paracord, and had to use a mount that doesn't fall off.

progress report: I still need to aquire a light. Fun show this weekend so maybe I can pick one up. Details: Colt MT6400C Lower ("M4 Carbine" on left side of reciever, correct Colt stock body) Colt 6920 Upper Colt M16 BCG Knights M4 RAS (KAC P/N: 98064) Knight Panels Knights VFG Aimpoint Comp M2 with bikini covers / Kill Flash (or) TA31F with a.r.m.s. Matech BUIS I plan on selling my 6920 upper and go with the 14.7" upper, obtain a Surefire and I should be good to go for my M4gery. What sling do you guys suggest? Any constructive input whether good or bad is welcomed. Thanks! |
That Multicam paint job didn't last very long did it?

ACtually I really liked it...and might do my new upper that way only w/ a more durable finish such as Norrells or Duracoat. I just decided to sell the upper and therefore figured it would sell better w/ the paint removed.

I am really wanting to get started on moly resin/duracoating a few of my AR's too. After looking at my "black" weapons with my AN/PVS-14's I think it is mandatory. And though I like Multicam, I am thinking that I am going to have to come up with another pattern, or solid color, that is not like a beacon through NOD's. **Sorry for the OT Discussion guys**

It is the Aimpoint QRP "rail-grabber" mount. It is the one we were issued for our M4s during OIF II, so that's why it's on my M4gery. I like my Larue cantilever mount much more, but I was going for authenticity on the M4gery build. |
why did you do it man??? that was one of the best looking rifles out there. |
