| What would be recomended for a "quality" hard case for an M-4 length gun? |
|
i second that.... the 1750 is WAY oversized for a carbine. i just picked up a 1700 and it is absolutely perfect.... it fit my Dissipator (16" plus CavComp, Cavalry Arms C1 Stock), 6 mags, and plenty more room to cut out when i figure out what else to put in there! |
| yah the 1750 is almost big enough to transport my girlfriend inside of LOL. Starlight and Pelican are both good cases. There are quite a few dealers that sell Pelicans on the Equipment Exchange. I know J&T sells them and CS gunworks (he's new-tacked thread in AR parts) has them listed on his website. I bet there are many others, those are just the first two I thought of. |

Go do research on Starlight cases. Not only are they BETTER than a Pelican Case they are CHEAPER too (retail price) and used for all delicate equipment by our own military. Starlight is THE case to own. http://www.starlightcases.com/ The following link is Starlight Vs Pelican. Pelican looses... http://www.starlightcases.com/comparisons.htm |

I have an SKB general purpose case (2SKB-3613G) that my carbine fits perfectly into (literally). I was sold on it based on prior experience with the quality of their cases. I have an SKB LP style case that my Gibson Les Paul Studio is kept in. SKB build is fantastic. It wasn't overly expensive either. If I recall, I paid about $130 for my rifle case. Quoted: yah the 1750 is almost big enough to transport my girlfriend inside of LOL. The bad part about my suggestion is I was thinking the smaller case . I even have the smaller one but for some reason I was thinking 1750 was the small one not the 1700. Either case you decide on , try looking on Ebay you can usually get a good deal there . |

The problem with both Pelican and Starlight is that they don't have an intermediate rifle case size. The 52" is way too large for a carbine, and the 38" model won't accept most AKs equipped with a muzzle brake or full-length stock. At least most of the soft case manufacturers offer a 42" size. |

Quoted: Shameless plug for my new business...:-) http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=7&f=25&t=182926 4.) Companies or individuals cannot advertise or sell products in the forums without prior approval from the Sr. Staff. Individuals interested in selling or trading equipment should resort to the Equipment Exchange. Fraudulent practices or attempts to defraud another person or group will be dealt with very seriously. You know we have very large businesses that pay thousands of dollars to advertise here and they are restricted to the Equipment Exchange and play by the rules. You not only post an ad here when you aren't supposed to, but are running a business and not only do you not pay for a dealer membership, you've never even sprung for a $ 20 team membership. [:(] Chris-I don't think Cavarms makes purple. The red is pretty sharp though. I did see a Glow in the Dark set once, that was VERY cool! |
