Starlite cases are very strong and impact resistant.  They cost more than the Pelican.  But my M16 or M60 is worth it.  Someone sells them in the EE, I think, about $185. Do a search.

I'm on a starlight kick.  I've picked up 4 used ones, and they're great.  Very sturdy.

Pelican 1750 for an M4.........................
BWWWAAAAAAAHAHAAAAAAHAHAHAHAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAAA

He didn't say for an AR-10(T).

i second that....
the 1750 is WAY oversized for a carbine.  i just picked up a 1700 and it is absolutely perfect....
it fit my Dissipator (16" plus CavComp, Cavalry Arms C1 Stock), 6 mags, and plenty more room to cut out when i figure out what else to put in there!

Go do research on Starlight cases.  Not only are they BETTER than a Pelican Case they are CHEAPER too (retail price) and used for all delicate equipment by our own military.

Starlight is THE case to own.

I have an SKB general purpose case (2SKB-3613G) that my carbine fits perfectly into (literally).  I was sold on it based on prior experience with the quality of their cases.  I have an SKB LP style case that my Gibson Les Paul Studio is kept in.  SKB build is fantastic.  It wasn't overly expensive either.  If I recall, I paid about $130 for my rifle case.

The bad part about my suggestion is I was thinking the smaller case . I even have the smaller one but for some reason I was thinking 1750 was the small one not the 1700.

Either case you decide on , try looking on Ebay you can usually get a good deal there .

The problem with both Pelican and Starlight is that they don't have an intermediate rifle case size. The 52" is way too large for a carbine, and the 38" model won't accept most AKs equipped with a muzzle brake or full-length stock.

At least most of the soft case manufacturers offer a 42" size.

An AK 74 fits in the smaller Starlight when inserted diagonally.

A VEPR-II with a muzzle brake won't.
