????? If you want "schematics", just download the PDF blueprint files that are available out there. Go to Google and search. Heck, there's a site/forum (can't recall which) that has tons of free prints. Edit- Dumb me... 5.56mmx45 is the metric (is that it? what you're looking for?)

decible is a measurement of sound. He wants to know how loud it is.

This is an incomplete question. The decibel's are going to be different between a straight barrel and one with a flash hider and one with a compensator and one with a brake.Decibel's are going to be different between barrel lenghth's and maybe even between barrel diameters. And the sounds are really going to change between ammunition grain loads. [:\]

Well, this is one time where speed reading didn't pay off...

My 14.5 Bushmaster shorty AK is load enough to make me drop the rifle to my waist while firing with no hearing protection. I have fired many government colt 20's and noticed a huge 'CRACK'. This was more of a 'BOOM' that tried the mettle of my soul. I would choose this weapon last out of a Glock 19, Remington 870, and XM-15. It is punishingly loud.

Your 14.5" Bushie is louder than a 20". It has a shorter profile, that's the only advantage. You loose distance and velosity.

I think generally, an AR of any type will give 160 decibels. Barrel length and ammunintion selection will vary the sound a bit, but 160 dB is a general measurement.
