Mine uses metal mags and polymer with no issues. Rifle functioned flawlessly for about 500 rounds... and then the extractor broke.
Turned the BCG in at Fernandina and waiting for a replacement. I hope the new extractor is made of tungsten because I am reading a lot about extractor failures. Thanks again to Josiah for helping me with the warranty. |

I had the same problem and I had to pull back the latch to lock the PMAG in place. I also bought KCI Steel and Bulgaria polymer mags with steel lugs and they work fine. Unfortunately, my extractor broke at 500 rds and I sent the bolt back to PSA for replacement so I am waiting for it now.

So 16" KS-47s rifles are in stock now.
PSA has pulled the Pistol completed lowers for the KS-47 No signs of uppers for people who bought pistol lowers Looks like PSA is going to screw over their customers with their inaction, I want my money back on my lower if uppers aren't released ASAP. PSA needs to make exceptions for refund on FFL items if they don't get upper in the hand of their customers before the new ATF ruling come out. If they sold a pistol lower without the ability of their customers to get them grandfathered in they have a responsibility to make it right by their customers. AR-15 pistol kits never stopped being sold in their shops from august till now, it's very disappointing. |

I finally gave up and went with the BRS47 receiver set. Had to wait and paid more, but not as long as PSA and they accurately communicated with me. I am happy now and will move on from the KS47. Now what to do with this now worthless KS47 lower? |

Buy a standard bolt carrier and send it off to be milled for clearance. Or cry about it have an expensive paper weight. |

I prefer not to have a bubba'd upper, even though some of the workarounds are fairly nice. |

I think the main issue is that @PalmettoStateArmory has been telling that uppers are coming for months, but they never really did. |

So are there not going to be any 8.5 uppers coming out?

Hey guys. Did anyone here who mailed in their BCG for a broken extractor get theirs back yet? Been 3 months since I sent it back (after only 500 rds shot and functioning for 2 weeks). Apparently they're doing QC on the bolts they have in stock from the recent shipment of parts. Great rifle aside from the extractor!I absolutely miss shooting it.

Question 1
Can I swap out the PSA rail with other brand AR-15 rails? Barrel nut standard AR? Question 2 Any chance a 6.5 grendel extractor would be a spare extractor option? Thanks E |

However, any anti-rotation tabs on the handguard will not interface with the KS-47 upper so they will have to be modified or removed. Question 2 Any chance a 6.5 grendel extractor would be a spare extractor option? Thanks E Sure, if your Grendel's bolt face depth is 0.125". If you have a 0.136" bolt face depth, the extractor won't be ideal and may not even work correctly. |

I don’t know about the extractor but any standard AR15 barrel nut and rail will fit on the upper receiver of the KS 47.

It would have to be for 6.5 Grendel Type 1.

Thanks for the info. Roger on the Type 1 extractor. I’m rolling the dice on a JP enhanced extractor. Says it’ll work on all Grendels. Wish it said just type 1. But we’ll see.

Any clarification on better quality bolt assembly group for Gen 2 KS 47 ? I have read of folks using different manufacturer BCG modified for 7.62x39 without a problem. Can anyone with knowledge on that help with
1. Names of company that can make the modification 2. Names of alternative quality enhanced firing pin that will work in KS47 3. Does JP 6.5 grendel enhanced bolt & firing pin work ? Love the accuracy of the KS 10" , but dang unimaginable low quality bolt assembly ... PSA folks need to step up and fix this problem once and for all. Attached File Attached File NOTE. issue is currently being addresed by PSA rep on AR15, so kudos to him for that. |

I took it to the range today and it ran fine. I used installed the Primary Weaponry 7.62x39mm Nitride bolt and it also worked with any issues. I bought this bolt along with extra 7.62x39mm extractors just in case I need it.
