I bring sad news of another fallen Special Forces Member. At this time all I can tell you that he was stationed here at Bragg and a father and a devoted husband and that he loved the lord very much. He was killed yesterday during the massive fire fight in Afghanistan. He was a personal friend of mine, and a hell of a soldier.
The name has yet to be announced to the public and has yet to be published to the people of Fayetteville/ Ft. Bragg. It was told to the people of our church as of this morning. He left behind 2 small children and a wife. She was notified on Friday of this unfortunate death, She had a bad feeling that something was wrong all day. She had called his unit and they told her that she needed to go home. There she was confirmed that it was her husband that has be killed. The family is taking it well and they ask for prayer at this time. Update The Soldier Killed was Stan Harriman 3rd Special Forces Group Ft Bragg NC. I plan to print this thread off and deliver it to the family, If you would like to send cards Please email me I will give you my address and I will hand deliver them to the family. Please continue to pray for the family and friends. Thank you all for your response thus far. It is so wonderful to know that this brave man was a Christian and that he is safe in the arms of our Lord.
To have men of faith serve in our armed forces and be willing to sacrifice their lives for us is so humbling to people such as myself. I pray that the Lord will protect and comfort His wife and children and the rest of his family. Someday those of us who know the Lord may get to meet this brave soul in paradise. Thankyou for posting this information and not omitting the part about him being a Christian. Lee |

Prayers sent. Thanks to him, and the rest of our armed forces. It isn't enough, but it is all I have.
I deeply feel for his family, and I am grateful that men such as him still love their country enough to risk their lives for it daily.
May GOD bless his family and give them peace.
And may all of America remember his sacrifice and not continue to give away our freedoms. dave |
Let me know if there's anything we can do here to let the family know of our admiration of his sacrifice and the pain of his passing.
Our hearts are with his family, with you, and with our soldiers stationed across the world. |

There is a shady place by the river in Paradise for souls such as this, that stand between the sheep and the wolves.
"Greater love hath no man than this, that he lay down his life for his friends." How much greater for those of us unknown to him but as fello Americans. May god bless and strengthen his family. |
My condolences to the family.
The news reports said several other GI's were injured, were any of them from Bragg do you know? |
Sorry to hear about your friend. My condolences go out to his family and friends.
Please convey my condolences to his family and may we never forget the ultimate sacrifice he made for us.
He and his family are in God's hands, now, and may the Lord give you some comfort to help you through your loss, too.
We all owe him and his fellows a debt we'll never be able to repay, but we should do what we can to honor and remember them all. |

Everyone who wears the uniform of the United States Military I consider family. We ALL share this loss.
please share my condolances to his family.
New topic suggestion. How about a wall of honor forum. we could post names of friends and family killed in combat. Could also post for LEO/FF/EMS workers. Kinda of a memorial for our family and freinds lost. mike [USA] [%(] |

acftgrunt,
It pains me beyond measure to learn of the death of a soldier in battle. Especially knowing that the soldier left behind a family. Will you tell his family this for me: THANK YOU. To The Family Of Stan Harriman;
There is no way a simple thank you can express the gratitude I feel for what your loved one has given for me, my family and this country. I can't even bare to thank you as it just seems so inadequate. My Dear God, Thank You for men like Stan Harriman. |

Look God:
I have never spoken to You, But now I want to say, "How do You do." You see God, they told me You did not exist; And, like a fool, I believed all of this. Last night from a shell hole I saw Your sky; I figured right then they had told me a lie. Had I taken the time to see the things You made, I would know they weren't calling a spade a spade. I wonder, God, if You would shake my hand; Somehow, I feel that You will understand. Strange, I had to come to this hellish place Before I had time to see Your face. Well, I guess there isn't much more to say, But I am sure glad, God, I met You today. I guess the zero hour will soon be here, But I am not afraid since I know You are near. The signal - well, God, I will have to go; I love you lots, this I want you to know. Looks like this will be a horrible fight; Who knows, I may come to your house tonight. Though I wasn't friendly with you before, I wonder, God, if you would wait at the door. Look, I am crying, me shedding tears! I wish I had known you these many years. Well, I will have to go now, God. Goodbye Strange, since I met you, I am not afraid to die. ~Author Unknown~ |

One thing is certain. He died performing a noble service to this country, and indeed all of humanity. My sympathies and prayers go out to his family and friends. It is an unfair and harsh world we live in.

Once again an American soldier gives the ultimate sacrifice to defend freedom. This is why we always say, "Freedom Isn't Free." The true price of our freedom was paid in full by Chief Warrant Officer Stanley L. Harriman, a genuine American. My condolences go to the family and friends of this brave young man. Thank you Stanley.

I thank him and all the other soldiers who lost thier lives to defend to great country and the freedoms we share everyday. God bless him and his Family.

The men who offer their lives for the safety of those of us at home have no equals. The families of those men bear a terrible burden also.
My heart goes out to his wife and family. Perhaps time will heal their pain, certainly not the few words written here. I thank him for his sacrifice, and send my condolences to the family. My own problems suddenly seem smaller today. Billy Porter |

God bless those who pledge "their lives, their fortunes, their sacred honor" to defend freedom from those that would try to destroy it. I pray that Chief Warrant Officer Harriman's family can take some comfot in knowing that his sacrifice is genuinely appreciated my MANY Americans..

It is always a sad day when we learn of the passing of one dedicated to defending the freedoms that we often take for granted. May the family be comforted by the fact that some of us truly appreciate his service to our country, and mourn along with them. With a heavy heart.....
