Im running 2000 and Im hostile about upgrading.
Most the calls at work are either 98 or XP, occasioanly get someone with Win 95. |
Someone called up with that. Do you see start? No Ok what do you see on the screen. Program Manager Your going to need to upgrade your system |
People call up with it at work, I'll get them running if they know what they are doing, if they dont and some sure the hell dont they are screwed. Same with Macs |
I run Windows XP Professional in a dual boot config as well though |

I can get around a Mac better then most people at work, thats not saying much, but if I got to babystep someone through using one I cant |
Win 98 (2nd edition). Have very few problems with it.
I have a Win 2000 disc, but see no real reason to upgrade right now. I plan on buying (or building), an newer PC shortly and will most likely install Win 2000, but I'll still keep my current set-up as an alternative computer/OS. |

AAAUUUGGGHHHH!!! NOT THE BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH....AGAIN!!! OHH GGAAWWDD SAAVVEE MMEEE!!! Sorry, just a bad flashback. Some kind of "Post-Traumatic Stress" disorder...ok, I'm better now...(breathe-in breathe-out) |
I still have ME on my home computer, and I only get the blue screen of death 3 or 4 times a day... |

I don't hate you, I pity you. |
Desktops still running 98. The laptops running XP. The desktop harddrive is making some scary noises these days, so I'm not sure its long for this world.
It sucked until you did a hell of a lot of tweaking to eliminate all sorts of crap they put in with it. Once you went through all the trouble, it ran pretty fast and stable. Not XP stable, but it got to the point where I couldn't remember any sort of OS crashes. |

ME was an experiment, it has some XP stuff on it but doesn't work nearly as well. I just switched over to a 64 bit system but still run XP on 32. Seems to be a rocket ship so far. |

OS X on an iBook G4.
Best thing I ever did. Getting ready to ditch the desktop and replace with it with a Mac. For most of my life, all I did was make fun of Mac users. Then OS X came along - and the Unix core really interested me. Been using an iBook for about two months - the best computer/OS I've ever used, hands down. Well, aside from Solaris, but that's another story for another day. |
So i buy me one of those Mp3 players today, it needs win xp SP1 to install the software, it goes back tomorrow
Better back it up NOW! Ask me how I know. PS Those external hard drives are great for that and they also make file swapping a breaze! |
