Win 98 (2nd edition). Have very few problems with it.

I have a Win 2000 disc, but see no real reason to upgrade right now.

I plan on buying (or building), an newer PC shortly and will most likely install Win 2000, but I'll still keep my current set-up as an alternative computer/OS.

It sucked until you did a hell of a lot of tweaking to eliminate all sorts of crap they put in with it. Once you went through all the trouble, it ran pretty fast and stable. Not XP stable, but it got to the point where I couldn't remember any sort of OS crashes.

ME was an experiment, it has some XP stuff on it but doesn't work nearly as well. I just switched over to a 64 bit system but still run XP on 32. Seems to be a rocket ship so far.

OS X on an iBook G4.

Best thing I ever did.  Getting ready to ditch the desktop and replace with it with a Mac.

For most of my life, all I did was make fun of Mac users.   Then OS X came along - and the Unix core really interested me.

Been using an iBook for about two months - the best computer/OS I've ever used, hands down.

Well, aside from Solaris, but that's another story for another day.

Better back it up NOW!  Ask me how I know.

PS  Those external hard drives are great for that and they also make file swapping a breaze!
