Was looking to upgrade my trigger on my Remington 700. How are the timney triggers?
I'm not looking to spend an arm and a leg.

Is this an easy install?

I installed one in my savage model 10, and it is a 100 % improvement. It breaks cleanly and repeatedly at 2.75#. I am sure the Remington version is well worth the cost.

Yes, did the same on my 110. Really huge improvement. You'll like it.

Is this a hard change out on a remington 700?

very easy to swap out on the 700.  I did both of mine pretty quick.  an improvement over the factory w/o having to make adjustments.

Is it a pain if you purcahse the timeny without the safety? Is it hard to put the factory safety on the timney trigger or even possible?

I just adjusted to the factory tigger to two pounds.

Swapped one on Savage 110. Outstanding results. The install was very easy. Depending on how light you want the trigger pull, the adjustment SHOULD take a while in order to guarantee that it is safe.

I recently had a rifle completely rebuilt by GA Precision. All three of my best shooting buds agreed that the Timney I put on another rifle was better than the GA Precision trigger job. Not that the GAP trigger (no idea what components were used) is bad. Just that the Timney was a cleaner break. YMMV.
