I have an idea: man up, grow a set, stay and fight to turn things around IN THIS COUNTRY instead of putting your tail between your legs and hauling ass like a scared puppy.

You're a lawyer or studying to be a lawyer?  How about concentrate on defending the constitution the way it was written?  How about becoming a pro-gun/pro-2nd lawyer?  Why don't you try and make a difference instead of running?

First, I've never had a job before, so my only references are teachers (who invariably seem to hate me) and my theater crew chiefs (who invariably are sarcastic and will at least pretend to hate me). Second, I'm sixteen, and most people tend to not want to hire minors for some reason. I also have problems in that I can only work evenings and weekends (sixteen, two more years of HS), and that I don't yet have a driver's license, so any transportation has to be within walking distance or by public transportation, or provided by my parents who already complain about driving me places.

So, anybody know any placement agencies in the Fairfax, VA area that could help? Anybody in that area looking for an assistant or know somebody who is, and who also wouldn't mind hiring a minor?

I've been considering it for a while... thinking about the deteriorating state of our rights here, and how it'll only get worse (the students and teachers here know what I'm talking about). Although I've been looking pretty intensely, I can't find the answers to a few questions.

How hard is it to emigrate? What I heard is, it's a lot easier if you have a lot of money. Otherwise, not sure.

Of the 3 main languages (Deutsch, Italiano, & Francais), which is the most commonly spoken (I know everybody says nearly everybody there speaks English, but it's good to be able to communicate with those who can't. Also, it's better to not be known as the dumbass American who makes it harder for everybody)? I think German, but I'm not sure.

What are the taxes like?

How's the job market for lawyers? What about psychology/psychiatry? Wages?

How long does it take to become naturalized? Can a non-citizen enjoy the rights of a citizen? How do their non-RKBA related rights compare to over here?

In the RKBA arena, what are the policies on machine-guns other than the issue SIGs? Are non-citizen residents also part of the militia?

Thanks in advance to those who know and are willing to help.
(P. S. Yes, I am well aware of the much wider availability of firearms and things like SBRs and silencers)

That's because you are sixteen.  Give yourself a few years and simple ideas like contact a DK (that's Swiss right DK-Prof?) embassy will come to mind with nary an effort.

Right now you are going thru teen-angst, but you need to understand that you have hormones and ignorance working against you.  That and you have a strong wish to rebel.  You are listening too much to your teachers who were taught in a university to hate the USA.  You need to relax and take some time to observe the whole world around you, and pay close attention to cause and effect.  You will see that the US and its policies are not so bad by a fair margin.

Or you could try to travel and remain in Switzerland underground and support yourself thru male prostitution.  Bye the way your customers will not be female.

Bastard!

Actually, I'm laughing at MagKnightX, but I was just as clueless when I was 16. Ironically, around the same age, I decided that Denmark sucked, and I thought about immigrating to South Africa.  I'd been there on vacation once, and had a few friends there - and it seemed like an awesome place with lots of opportunity, and my home country seemed to boringly normal and dead-end.

I actually took the whole making-a-fool-of-myself thing even more seriously, and went to the South African embassy.  I dressed nicely, made an appointment and asked all kinds of questions about immigration.  To their credit, they were very nice and polite, and gave me some reading materials - and after I left were probably laughing at the poor dumb kid who didn't have a clue what he wanted.

Luckily, I joined the army instead, and the family regiment straightened me out, and turned me into the dashingly handsome success story that I am today!

Of course, I DID end up eventually leaving Denmark (and moving here) but it was when I was in my 20s, and much more mature and aware of what I wanted and how I was going to get it.

We are now staging for the takeover of a small Caribbean Island by force. The current inhabitants will be removed by force but can later apply for citizenship. Once stability is reached a true democracy will be put into place. We are now taking applications for those who wish to immigrate to this new nation. The initial population will be limited to 100,000 persons. Those with medical and construction skills will receive first priority.

IM me for more details.

Yeah, that's right.  Generally speaking, most of the world's more advanced, industrialized nations basically do not accept immigrants for citizenship.  If you have a ton of money, or want to clean their latrines, or possess a desperately needed skill, you will probably be allowed to take up alien residency.

They have a saying about Switzerland: "Everything is either compulsory or forbidden". Switzerland is a relatively regimented state, much more in the German model than the American model. As for the RKBA, don't hold you breath that it will last forever... there is a strong movement towards entry to the European Union, but that can only happen if Switzerland signs up to the restrictive gun laws of the EU.

If you just want hassle-free machine guns in a democratic-socialist environment, you might also consider Finland (if you can handle the climate and the long winter nights).

The snobbiest, nost anti-american person I have ever met was a Swiss exchange student. He told me about his country, and I was quite interested. However, I grew up, and realised a socialist eutopia is not where I want to be. He loved his country sooo much, yet he wanted to stay in the US permanantly. That says something.

Employment, self-employment, studies and retirement in Switzerland

The Swiss Government's restrictive immigration policy has made it very difficult to obtain residence permits for those who intend to take up employment. As a rule, only persons who have secured jobs which cannot be filled by Swiss nationals have a chance of obtaining residence permits. Inevitably, these vacancies are mainly in occupations of a highly specialised nature.

Switzerland does not use the term "work permit" in its traditional sense. The residence permit is a combination of both a residence and a work permit, entitling the holder to live in a particular canton and work for a specified employer.

As a rule, self-employment is possible only after a permanent residence permit has been obtained. Since such a permit is only issued after a prolonged period of time, it is virtually impossible to emigrate to Switzerland for the sole purpose of being self-employed.

Residence permits for students are granted for the period for which the student is accepted to the university, college or school. Proof of registration and financial means is required.

Only persons over the age of 60 who have retired from professional/business activities and who wish to join close relatives living in Switzerland have any real chance of being granted a residence permit.

Might I suggest Costa Rica?  Switzerland is a nice place to vacation, but it would be a tough go to try and live there.  You have to buy stamps for your garbage, for example.  Even the street cleaner workers drives Mercedes' in Switzerland.  I loved it when I was there, but could never afford to live there unless I became a multi-millionaire.  Billionaire would be better, as has already been pointed out.

Also, if you like Europe, try some of the newly-liberated Eastern European countries on for size.  Not sure what their gun laws are like (*probably bad*) but you can probably live there cheaply.

It's sad, but unless you are talking about the wild east, or central america, there are damn few countries where the populace has any gun rights (and note that guns are de fact banned most everywhere, but enforcement is usually where the breakdown exists).  It is terrifying to think about how statism has pushed people to the point of utter defenselessness.

Most East Euro countries have very restrictive gun laws from the Communist days… if you want a European country with 'good' gun laws; choose FRANCE… not kidding! In France any homeowner has the statutory right to own a large caibre handgun fore home defence… you can own full autos in France, just need to jump through a lot of hoops. You can even get a licence for a tanks main armament and shoot it on a approved militray range. Just think… a licence for a 105mm!!

Good, get the fuck out. And take that Baldwin twit and the other moron, Eddie Vedder.  They've been making empty promises like yours also.  Maybe if you all hold hands, click your heals three times and say there's no place like communist Russia we'll finally be rid of you.

BTW you're a complete moron.  Unless you have some international business law degree (which I doubt) your law degree would be shit in Switzerland.  Do you really think they practice U.S. law over there dickhead?  But of course a real lawyer would know that.  But don't worry, I'm sure they have a village idiot there also.  You're more than qualified.  If you need references I'm positive many people here will gladly explain what a tool you are.

And your new name shall be... Dickhead McEatscocks.

When did I promise to do ANYTHING, Mr. McEatscocks?

ROFLMAO  That was awesome, what are you in grade school?

Obviously I called you on your bullshit because anyone that's a real lawyer would have been able to come up with something better than that.  Seriously, you must be such an embarrassment to your family that you dad cries himself to sleep at night.  Don't be upset, someone has to be the village idiot.  Yeah I'd imagine it might suck to know that EVERYONE you meet is smarter than you, but hey ignorance is bliss, right?  Think of it this way, you can't possibly get any dumber.

No wonder why you love socialism. Instead of living off of welfare your whole life, you'll be able to make the same salary as the big shot lawyers you look up to.  Everyone should be equal, right comrad?  Of course you weren't able to do the math.  Here let me spoon feed it to you.  You'll still be dirt-ass poor; you'll still live in a trailer; you'll still wear a mullet; and you'll still be married to a grossly overweight , moomoo wearing, pre-op transsexual manly looking broad.

Here's a clue. Go back to the DU. They love ignorant socialists like yourself. Think of it as village idiots united. You'll fit right in.

Uhh Andy we already got them here...

Personally though I'd much prefer a 75mm  (easier to tow behind my Cherokee).

He's not an idiot -- he is SIXTEEN . . .

Oh Jesus H. Christ, that explains it.

Isn't there a Nintendo power forum he can go troll or something?

Edit: 16 is still not an excuse for being an idiot.  How old is that Fox kid that runs around here?  I think he's like 14 and still has WAY more on the ball than this dipshit.
