Just started a new job yesterday and trying to get my bearings. I was at Spruce Peak off the Mountain Rd. Beautiful up there! Attached File |

Sorry for the thread derail It’s the foothills of Appalachia. Beautiful country. It looked beautiful. I'm about 10 miles as the crow flies from the Ohio river, along the I70 corridor. Very hilly. |

I have apparently been under a rock, because I didn't even know this was a thing. I was, however, wondering why it was so damn hazy.
It's pretty bad here. 170 according to that map. WTF Canada |

I'm thinking maybe we can march North, adjust these big fans and blow that stank ass smoke back into our frozen top hat . |
|
Sky has been a crazy orange I’ve never seen before early evening. I can smell the smoke, and now that the clouds have broken the sun is blood red.

I'll be flying in to upstate NY later this week. Maybe it's better by then but from what Im seeing it's not expected to be. I'll make the best of it I suppose.

Was pretty bad here in NS a couple days ago, like a bad foggy day.
We been airdropping bags of milk for days with no effect, going to switch to Brawndo soon as it has what fires crave. |
|
It is visibly "smokey" in my neck of Southern Onterrible. I'm only about 1hr:20Min from the Niagara Falls border crossing.
Crazy how much of it is in the air. I can smell it faintly. Big fires, for sure. |
|
Was bad here a month ago. WTF Canada? Added more CO2 than a fucking volcano. Hope you guys have the carbon credits to offset your pollution.
|
|
Holy shit it's awful here right now.
Visibility is real low and the moment you walk outside it's like you're next to a campfire. The smell is so strong. I'm guessing the front that just blew through knocked it all down to the lower atmosphere |

Canada is completing against America's Great Smokey Mountains now I guess.

I hadn't really paid any attention to it until I read this thread, but it was super hazy at work in Richmond.
I live an hour outside of the city, in the country, and even there it was similar. Not quite as bad but you can see the smoke rolling through at times like a fog. And I got an air quality alert on my phone when I got home. A code orange (whatever that means) until 1AM. |
|
I’m in Toronto now and they’ve issued an air quality alert for “severe risk to health” because of the wildfires.
I can’t smell any smoke, though, or see any haze. |
|
Much worse now here in Berks county PA.
Super hazy, and very strong smell of smoke. I'd think a neighbor was having a bonfire or burning a big brush pile from the smell. Had a little rain which made it much worse, seemed to pull smoke down from above somehow. Attached File |

My gf was telling me about it. A fuck ton of NS is on fire, and from she was saying its headed north into New Brunswick. NB has fuck all but mountains, trees, and sasquatch in it.
Eta: Apparently part of Quebec is on fire too, but that wont affect the US any. |

Family in Stowe, Morrisville, and Hyde Park. |

You guys should educate yourselves on what type of terrain the fires are in.
Thank God the winds blow east. Canada had very dry winter and spring. |

I’m about midway between Syracuse and Utica in Central New York. Yesterday was so dark it looked a solar eclipse and the air would burn your eyes and nose. When it rained late in the day, it smelled like someone doused a campfire. We’ll see how bad it gets today.

Central Va here. It went from clear to “ you could cut it with a knife “ hazy. You could smell it too.

My wife's comment was "this is so bad...are you sure there's not a fire close to us?"

Central Southern tier, PM2.5 294. Worse than yesterday. 300 is considered dangerous.
