Buffalo resident here. It's been bad for a couple of days now. I've seen the same thing that you guys have pictures of. The orange sky and almost completely obscured sun. It smelled like a campfire yesterday outside.
From what the fellows on the news are saying today will be worse and tomorrow even worse than today. |

Smoke map
Not sure if this was posted yet. I'm looking at WNY for the next 36 hours. Looks not so good. |

It's worse here in central Ohio than it was yesterday.
Almost foggy outside. |

My cars are getting caked with soot. I just washed them like three days ago.

Southern Tier NY is ass today. This happens during what was supposed to be the only 2 weeks of spotless weather we were supposed to have this summer. Thanks, assholes.

The morning was clear and sunny.
The winds must’ve shifted, and now it’s hazy as hell and smells like smoke. |

I was in Halifax two weeks ago. I really do the know how they get any thing to burn there. It is cold, WET, and windy.

I was at a pistol match on Saturday in South Jersey. The smoke made the range look hazy for awhile but luckily it cleared up pretty quick. The smell was stronger than the layer of smoke.
My daughter commented about the smoke today but you couldn't smell it. That was weird. |

I was dreamin' when I wrote this
Forgive me if it goes astray But when I woke up this mornin' Could've sworn it was judgment day The sky was all There were people runnin' everywhere Tryin' to run from the destruction You know I didn't even care |

Im in central CT. Its a teeeeeeeny bit better today, but yesterday after work it looked like Hollywoods version of Mexico. Everything was hazy and sepia toned.

Local weather lady said we could see some of that smoke here in GA by this evening. Odd weather pattern to bring it down this far, we get smoke from western fires sometimes but rarely from the northeast.

View Quote Two weeks ago it was hot as F and our rain fall for April and May were like 20% of the usual amount. Practically a drought. The forests are full of dead falls from hurricane Dorian and Fiona. We had a ton of rain since last Friday and the Nova Scotia fires are either out or contained in size. Justa-Turdo needs to tax us more to prevent these fires |

My moon last night was a bright reddish orange. Almost blood moon like.....

I missed this thread yesterday. I live in the Catskill Mountains and when I woke up and looked out at the reservoir and mountains you could not see anything. The sky was completely light gray as if it was going to rain. When I opened the door I was hit with the smell of smoke so I figured a neighbor somewhere was burning brush. It was not until I flipped on the idiot box that I learned about these fires from Canada. Same deal today.
Can I sue Canada for confining me indoors? |

It reached Stafford, VA last night and is heavier today. Definite haze and our AQI is up to a 180.

Hazy in Jericho, LI as well. Looks cream colored. Kinda like a blue light filter on your phone or tablet screen.

I am glad easterners can enjoy the fire and brimstone as we in the west are accustomed to. The new normal.
It is appropriate and only fair to share the "fun" of summer. Wait until the ppm readings go past hazardous. |

It's better here today compared to the last 2 days... East central Ohio.

It’s weird how the smoke settles in pockets. The yard at my shop is surrounded by trees, and the smoke has settled in and obscured the yard and you’d swear that the fire was in there.
I might even be a bit crazy, but I don’t mind this that much. I’m not asthmatic and it doesn’t bother me, so I think it’s kind of different. |
