He was pretty involved in the longshoreman drug / alcohol rehab program in LA.

Would give guys his personal cell number and tell them to call him before they did anything stupid.

His tacos are pretty good..

The boxing scene in the 1980s smash hit action-adventure movie Runaway Train was where Trejo got his big breakthrough into motion pictures. I think he was actually an inmate at the Alaska prison where the scene was filmed and was chosen to serve as an extra.

Yeah because people are incapable of change. If people judged me by what I did in my late teens early 20s I would be shit out of luck. The dude gives more time and money helping people get out of the situations he was in back then. Big fucking deal. The guy is also a huge supporter of military and leo.

He's been sober a long time. Spent a bit of time in prison for drugs and shit. Got clean when he got out.

Yep. He's one of the few success stories of people learning from their mistakes, and not being the normal addict who is a frequent flyer, or long term resident of the jail system.

Got off to a bad start, fucked up bad, pulled himself back from drugs and crime, and helps a lot of people kick smack. I may not agree with him politically, but I have some respect for him. He doesn't take himself too seriously, either.

Shit happens, and lots of us have done stupid stuff and not been on the best path in the past. He turned his life around long ago, and has stayed straight long enough for me to give him a pass.
