Should be "purpose of seat belt *laws*"
Purpose of seat is pretty self-evident. |

It's really sad that people are so retarded we need to make a law to get them to wear their seat belts.

Dumb.
I'd assume that playing "six degrees of fucking with the police" over anything will have an above 50% probability of turning out bad for you... |

I’m fine with not having seatbelt laws so long as first responders note who wasn’t wearing one and people who weren’t wearing belts aren’t treated or transported until they prove their ability to pay for the treatment.

I'd be dead if it weren't for a seatbelt, but yeah it shouldn't be law. If you want to play the odds and more likely die, great! And of course getting ticketed from a bike cop for this just adds irony. Now litterers, why don't we generate $ off these filthy heathens?

I imagine it’s so they don’t have to go looking for bodies. Keeping them strapped into the vehicle is pretty convenient.

Not a fan of seatbelt laws at all, my personal safety is my business. Requiring me to have minors in my vehicle belted? OK. I do wear mine usually now though after 2 seatbelt tickets (My only tickets in 16 years of driving)

If your state wants Federal Highway Funding then you need a Seatbelt Law .

Public service is required to respond to mva with injuries. These are undeniably higher when people dont wear restraints.
I will trade seatbelt laws if that means public service doesnt have to render aid to those injured not wearing one. |

If all traffic infractions were changed where there is no monetary fine, instead jail time or community service were the only fine possible, would the frequency in traffic stops change?
It would be interesting to find out. We sure have a butt load of laws in this 'free' country. |

Seat belt laws are the biggest crock of shit ever. All they are are another excuse for you to get pulled over to see if they can catch you with anything else. States that don't require a helmet to ride a motorcycle but require a seat belt to ride in a vehicle. Yeah. They really care about our safety.
And no, I haven't gotten a seat belt ticket. I wear mine, just pisses me off the bull shit that gets passed to make the cities/states more money. |
|
|
You are an idiot if you dont use a seatbelt. I am sure plenty of 1st responders will vouch for this.
But i dont think we need laws to tell us this. |

There should be a law that you must chew your food completely before swallowing. This would reduce choking deaths.

It's really sad that people are so retarded we need to make a law to get them to wear their seat belts. I drive a 6000 lbs four-wheeled vehicle, surrounded by instantaneousy inflated airbags and I have to wear a fucking strap BY LAW, yet someone riding a 2-wheeled, less than 1000 lbs vehicle can do so in shorts, t-shirt and flip-flops and NO HELMET. Helmets have been as proven to save lives as a seat belt, yet NOT all states mandate wearing them, yet EVERY state mandates using and wearing a fucking seat belt or you get a- very costly- ticket. |
