After seeing John Wick 2 I kinda want a glock.

How hard is it say compared to an 80% 1911 build, or putting together an ar15?

Do they have any frames with a grip profile thats more like an M&P or otherwise more ergonomic than real glocks?

No where to get cheap slides from anymore. Most slides are within $50 of an entire polycase trade in.

Thread a while back did an 80% glock. It think ists spectre brand. It has plastic rails instead of metal insert rails though. That's what killed it for me.

You know there is a big thread on this in the Glock pistol section of this forum.

I'll spoonfeed you this one.

I made an 80% frame a few months ago, but I don't have a 17 or 34 slide assembly to put on it. It wasn't hard to do.

Aftermarket slides are too expensive and so are the Glock ones now too.

If you are building an 80% frame in an effort to save money, you won't. By the time you buy the frame parts (not included with the 80% kit) complete slide and two mags, you will be right at the price of a new G17gen3. You can do it cheaper looking for a good condition used Glock. Do a local FTF sale and it is just as ghostly as the 80% route (if you buy an 80% with a credit card, you are on the grid). Also, with a true Glock, you will have that lifetime factory support if you ever need it.

If you want to build an 80% for the challenge, the fun of it or just for something different then go for it but don't expect to save any money.

The current issue of Firearms News has an article about the guns in the movie.

Talking to my buddy today and he has two of them on pre-order Glock 80% frames on 80percentlowers.com--a black and a purple.

From their website, they look similar to OEM Glock frames, but I only have a Gen. 2 G22, so I'm no expert.

It's cheaper to just buy a Glock and then get a beaver tail attachment to fix the perfect grip angle.

However the 80% Glock frame is pretty easy to finish to functional status if you're handy and don't mind spending about $100 more on your gun. It also doesn't have its grip angle perverted to perfection so that's a nice bonus as well.

I built a bunch of them. What do you want to know?

I've got a guy on gunbroker who sells me slides direct for cheaper. I can usually put one together for about $600 or less, which is the average price of a new Glock around here.

Currently contemplating a Fauxland Special in 40 or a Glock 35.
