Yeah the water thing wasn't the greatest idea but if you can get past that it's a great movie.

No, that was a shite movie

I liked it a lot.  I think the people who dislike it are laboring under the delusion that it's a science fiction movie.  It's not:  it's a fairy tale.  And it's very obviously a fairy tale.  That's why there's no government involvement, no guns, no logic...it's a modern fairy tale.  When you watch it like that, it makes a lot of sense and is much more fun.

I'll freely admit that I enjoy it.

The whole picture of their own house in the book thing is trippy...actually the story is pretty freaky; his wife obviously seeing the alien in their house at her death and all.

That was the dumbest movie. WATER?? Smart enough to travel space but not smart enough to know earth was 75% of what kills you???? Really a let down. It would be the dumbest movie ever if it weren't for that Walberg movie about the trees killing people...

Water is technically acid, its not a fresh idea why aliens leave us alone...

It's an imperfect movie, but it has a couple of world-class scenes.

The scene where the family can hear the chained dog barking outside louder, and louder, and louder, and then go silent...is fantastically old-school freaky.

The scene where you first catch a glimpse of the alien...on the news...the build-up and payoff in that scene is just 100% perfect movie making. Just thinking about that first glimpse - as the alien walks by the camera - still sort of gives me the willies.

That would be The Happening. One of the worst movies ever made, and that isn't a fairy tale.

I liked the movie up until they discover the aliens can be killed by plain water.

so why would you go to a place that is 70% covered in a toxic substance, the air contains said toxic substance, and it is known to fall from the sky from time to time? Or at least why would you not wear protective gear?

you have interstellar travel but haven't invented an environmental suit?

Maybe the aliens in the movie are like space Africans? They didn't invent the technology, they don't understand how it works, but somehow they got it, and they're sort of using it somehow.

The ending of a couple people threw water at the aliens so the aliens just packed up and went back home killed it for me. These aliens mastered intergalactic travel, but the high technology of the westsuit and raincoat totally eluded them.

6th Sense was good.

Signs was awful.

Every movie after that achieves increasing degrees of awful to the point that words fail a proper description.

Except for the fact that these alien invaders can master interstellar travel, but are baffeled by the concept of a locked door.

I think the 6th Sense was just a fluke.

Sort of like the first two Star Wars movies, after you've seen the other 4 and have learned to hate George Lucas.
