So what is the story behind the rumor General Ham was relieved for planning to render aid to those in Benghazi?

Rumor and speculation has it he was relieved and possibly placed in confinement for planning to ignore the stand down order from Washington.

Suposexley he was relived of command for moving forces to southern italy to support a rescue if one was needed or ordrred amazing how quiet this has been kept

Cliff Notes: I heard he was the local commander and reported that he had assets ready to conduct rescue ops in Benghazi. He was ordered to stand down. He decided to go for it anyway. One minute later he was informed by his second in command that he was relieved of his duties.

Info obtained through RUMINT sources (email). I have no idea of the accuracy of any of this.
