I'd like to see what numbers you guys are pushing.
Just copy and paste this into the thread: Processor: Memory: Graphics: Gaming Graphics: Primary disk drive: Mine is Processor: 6.7 Memory: 6.7 Graphics: 7.4 Gaming Graphics: 7.4 Primary disk drive: 5.8 E6600 Intel dual core @ 3.5ghz @ 1333mhz FSB 4 gigs of Gskill DDR2 800 4-4-4-14 XFX radeon 5770 1gig Standard Sata II 7200rpm drive |
|
Right click "computer", choose properties then choose the "windows experience index" link.
Should give you all your different scores. The overall score is just your lowest score of all 5 of the tests which 99% of the time will be your disk drive. Why microsoft decided to take the lowest number instead of averaging them out is over my head. |

My buddy had a raptor 10K hard drive and his hard drive score was 5.9
It wasn't until he went to SSD that he got the hard drive scores into the 7's. |

Not at home right now so I can't. I'm also running 3 monitors, 1x 24" 1920x1080 LCD running off the GTX 275, and 2x 22" 1680x1050 LCDs running off a GeForce 9800. The i7 was super easy to get OC'ed to 3.8Ghz aircooled on my ASUS mobo.

Quoted: Hence the "In theory" part of the statement. I've always disagreed with the WEI score system for that reason. When I put a faster processor in a computer, I almost always see an improvement in performance, even with the same old slow hard drive. processor (Phenom 9750 x4 @ 2.4Ghz): 7.0 memory (8GB) : 7.2 graphics (Crappy onboard): 4.3 gaming graphics (see above): 5.2 primary hard disk (750GB Seagate 7200rpm): 5.9 Overall is 4.3, obviously limited by my crappy onboard graphics. Will eventually do something about that, after I finish the build I'm currently working on. Fairly low priority, as I don't really do much gaming anymore. |
