I have a 12 year old craftsman mower, push type. 2 weeks ago it would run right, for about 5 min I had to push the primer bulb constantly to get it to run, then after 5 min it finally ran. Now it wont run at all, even pushing the primer. It will start and run for about 2 sec then die. Ive taken out the carb 7 times, have to take alot of things apart to get it out. Ive cleaned it, blew out all pin holes with air. First I though it was the float problem not allowing fuel in, but after so many cleanings fuel goes in as it comes out the drain screw. Still not sure if enough fuel is flowing in. Took out the plug and cleaned it. Seems to start better on low speed, but if I go to high it wont start at all. Thats why im thinking its a jet if it has those. I couldnt find any just pin holes all over the place that I guess fuel flows through. In the middle of the carb there is a yellow plastic part on a spring that goes in the float bowl. Im not sure if fuel goes through that in the throttle body. Anyways ive given up on it and got a new mower but I figured if I could get it running it would sell quicker, plus I wont have to try to explain it to someone why it doesnt run.

Oh I also have some of that sea foam cleaner in with the gas as that had fixed a problem a year ago with it missing while running, I was hoping it would help this time but so far it hasnt.

Any suggestions. Im going to take it apart one more time to get pics so look back later for those.

SOUNDS JUST LIKE MY PROBLEM A FEW DAYS AGO. DIRT IN THE NEEDLE VALVE ABOVE THE FLOAT. REMOVE THE BOTTOM BOWL AND MOVE THE FLOAT UP AND DOWN A BUNCH OF TIMES. I ALSO TURNED MY MOWER UPSIDE DOWN AND DRAINED THE OLD FUEL OUT.

This may be the plastic yellow thing mine has, but it seems clear of debris, I did take it all apart again and again used a air compressor on all the parts but the yellow thing but it has holes that go right through no micro pin holes that I could see. Still only runs on the primer fuel. The yellow thing is on a spring and does move up and down. I think my mower has a vacuum line that was all cracked and I replace with a small hose, so who knows if that has something to do with this. Never drained the fuel but it no more then 2 months old as I use the mower 2 times a month.
I took some pics

From what I can tell I think the yellow thing might brings in the fuel as it stick in the center of the throttle body, or its some type of vacuum device. Next to it in the lower bowl area there is a brass hole which I think is a jet, it goes into plastic and comes out sideways into the yellow thing, but I blew that out with air and air flows through it. Im just thinking now no fuel gets into the mower.
