Does anyone else use Adblock Plus to block annoying or irritating avatars? I do:

No. However, I do wish folks would stay ORIGINAL with their avatars.... We have what, 50 people with the 'V for Vendetta/'Our Turn' one, and a whole bunch more who just like someone else's and copy it... They're supposed to be UNIQUE, so that you associate a particular poster with a particular picture... |

The one guy with the friggin gum chewing thing drives me fucking nuts. I will skip past that avatar because its so annoying and distracting. never thought to use ABP to block avatars

I would say yes, since I haven't seen any other posters on ARF using it... That's what I mean by original... The WORST example of 'violating' this would be 'douglasmorris99' and that goddamn V-for-vendetta avatar... There are SO MANY people using it, it's worthless as a way of telling who's who.... Because the point is that your avatar should tell YOU apart from EVERYONE ELSE... For example, a badge-ish looking flaming chicken (80's Trans Am GTA hood ornament)= ME. If there were 2 or 3 people (let alone a huge group) with my avatar - many of them with DIFFERENT views, how would that work out? Each poster should have a totally different avatar... |
