I registered a second account today. As soon as I did, some friends said "Oh no, you can't do that. You'll get both your accounts banned." Oops. So I went back to check the rules to see what I missed... Only, I didn't find anything.

I checked over the:
User Agreement:  http://www.ar15.com/about/userAgreement.html
Usage Policy:  http://www.ar15.com/content/page.html?id=8
Code of Conduct: http://www.ar15.com/content/page.html?id=5

I didn't spot anything in there on the issue. But my friends insist it's a pretty hardcore rule. So either:

A. I "can't read good" and it's right in front of me.
or
B. It's an unwritten rule that's strictly enforced.

Which is it?  Now to the suggestion:

If it's an unwritten rule, but is important to the community and site staff, why don't we just write it down?

BTW, I thought the name was funny, so I made it. If I get my main account banned because I made a mistake then I guess I'm banned. And yes, thanks to my friends, I've now heard all of the "No honest Afcommer needs more than one account..." stuff.

Thanks!

You should IM NorCal_LEO and ask for the second account to be locked. If he finds it on his own he might lock both your accounts.

Well, that explains it, OP.

Language is clear.

Well, the initial issue is cleared up. Thanks!

I still think that if this is to be a permanent rule from now on, it would streamline things a bit to add it to one of the rules documents.
