A skilled Simunitions bad guy knows what a true kill shot is. I always found revolvers to be a lot more accurate with that stuff and kept a S&W model 64 4" in my kit.

Yup. I was always OPFOR when we ran sims and used a S&W Model 66. Could hit the good guys waayyy down the hall with that thing. I think semi-autos jack up the sims projo when they chamber from the mag. Whenever I got hit it was always in the hands though. I started wearing breacher gloves with the finger tips cut off.

I went 'smart' again.

Fossil Hybrid HR. Syncs to the phone, notifications and all that. It's pretty interesting. The center of the face is 'e-paper', so it's not constantly powered. I'm on 2 weeks on one charge so far.

Neat: long battery life

Odd: No second hand. Minute hand moves every 30 seconds or so

I guess I need to clean my watch.  It has some travel grime/pollution on it from work.  I didn't notice until I posted the pic.

The bodyguard frame is my favorite for pocket carry. My old Model 36 my Grandpa carried doesn't make it out of the safe much.

Go big, or don't go in the woods!

Another heavy open day.

My trails and woods Gun used to be a NM Blackhawk in .357 from the 1980s until about 15 years Ago.  I then bought a 4” blue and 6” stainless 8 shot DA .357.
My plan WAS to grab a .44, but ending giving 45LC or ACP with clips a try.  For decades I have met to do that between magazine articles or friends showing the nifty ness of 45ACP in a revolver but never got around to it.

I already have the DE in .44 to go with the old Ruger tube Mag SA carbine I have.
But I had no pistol to go with my LA 45Colt.

Knife and belt were on my first OEF trip.  Riding around on a gator working on trail work in the woods and surrounding the pastures I hiked through yesterday is not too exiting but needs to be done.  Watch is a late 1970s 600m Seiko Quartz pro diver I picked up for about $100 bucks twenty years ago and had relumed.

When they came out,
They were Yen 120,000, about five times the cost of the Seiko 6309 diver that was $130 at the PX then.  The 7548 150m quartz were about $200.
The 6159 automatic 600m diver was only 89,000 yen.
Quartz was NOT cheap then.

Another woods day seeing what the heavy rains did to the trails.

Some will bemoan slide mounted safeties, heavy steel vs polymer, expense of certain knives and value per dollar, accuracy of automatic watches vs other options,
But man was meant to tame and forge steel, wolves, and horses.

Not polymer, cats, and sheep.

My first handgun was a S&W 3rd Gen 4506 w/ adjustable sights (ala Sonny Crockett). It gave way to more svelte guns over the years for carry, but for some reason I still pine after that big chunk of stainless with a horrible grip angle and even worse trigger pull. I could shoot that damn thing though. Keep 'em coming. Great posts.

The one gun I really regret selling was my first CCW gun, a S&W 3953. Growing up on revolvers, that DAO trigger was sweet.
