This was my last shot of the night, and caught it when he shut down the engine in the middle of my exposure.

They did spray down the ramp before each plane fired up. I have a shot of the mustang while they were spraying when my shutter was open, and it almost looks like fog.

So safety measure to wet down the pad?

The primary reason is the aesthetics!

My social distancing paid off bigly today.

Just think, maybe 2,000 years ago some Indian lost this.  Maybe it fell out of his pouch, or maybe he shot at dinner and missed, or maybe he shot at dinner, hit it and it broke off.  And I found it this afternoon.

And from the ground

For those that are interested, this is the still-frame setting on a GoPro Hero6, shot in raw and then developed through LR.  For the right subjects I'm amazed at how well the GoPro does.

On today's episode of "As the Northern Neck Turns" we once again find ourselves following the trials and tribulations of Kilmarnock the Pig as he soldiers through another day of social distancing.

1:02 pm.  "I sure am tired with all this alone-ness.  I think I might just take me a little nap right here on the side of the road."

Pig Nap By The Road by FredMan, on Flickr

Later that day...  4:07 pm.  "Now that I'm all rested up I gots me a powerful appetite!  Think I'll just munch on some-a this nice succulent wheat just a-growin' on the far side of the road!"

Pig In The Wheat by FredMan, on Flickr

Today's episode brought to you by tree planters, foresters, and utter boredom brought on by the onset of the beer flu.

Scrape tar off my late grandfather's roofing hatchet. Put a good edge on it and stain the wood red.

Judging by the style and American flag on the cuff, I'd say Redwings.

I'm an old lineman. Chippewa, West Coast, Georgia, and a host of others make climbing and logging boots.
I've rolled out of the rack and seen that more than once.
