I was looking north watching the ducks landing in the lake but kept hearing the lightning on the radio, turned around to the south and giant rain cloud. Raining now. Attached File |

Good conditions for me this evening. S5 noise and heard most of you S9 or better. I think I may have a coax issue. I disconnected it on the antenna end when I was running the electric out to the new shack/shop building. I didn't have any coax seal, and I may have water in the connector. We had over an inch of rain a few days ago. I'll clean it out, dry it out and reseal it.

If its broke. I can fix it. If it doesn't exist. I can make it. If its metal.

Thanks for the reports on the portable tonight. I was using my Icom 7300 and THIS antenna with the 40-10 stealth wire. If I ordered it again I think Id get the silicon wire for more tangle resistance.
Out of the box it tunes 10m at 1.2-1.5swr 15m at 1.1 20m at 1.0 40m at 2.0 I forgot to mention during the comments, the GO# @$%^ MOSQUITOES are out already! It took a few minutes to figure out why I was so itchy!LOL |

+1........100% on the less memory silicone wire for 22awg.
I bought some inexpensive vinyl clad in bright green and some silicone, both 22 awg. The PVC clad copper is kinky, and not the leasurable kind. The black silicone gives up the bright color choice but it winds up so much nicer. |

World ain't what it seems, is it Gunny?

@GreenDragon let's just stay on 15m until it improves, it should continue to get better. I don't know how to check messages yet...
@tyrex13
I have about half a dozen completed RXs from you on 15m. Viable path for sure. |

In callsigns heard box on right side. Right click my call and clickShow Message Inbox. That will be for a msg from me sitting in your box.
Same location and my call, click Directed to (my call), box pops up, click Query MSGS. it will give you a Yes, and a number. Same thing, QUERY MSG[ID]. Enter that number to get the msg waiting in my box for you ETA: sugnal wasn't great when I sent msg to your box, it might not be there. It's still not the best now. |
Playing some, but a bit clumsy.
I don't see that I've received snr from you

I hear IL and AK. Need to check out right now, but will try to educate myself on JS8.

ooff, my noise floor is S9 on 15m. Much better on 12m if you don't mind switching?
I'll run a quick WSPR test on 12m at low power. Report back here in about 10 minutes. |
Msg sent to your box, two waiting for you in my box
I'll switch to 12m after i type this, msgs will still be there.
On 12m now

I just set up my 7300 for dedicated digital, I'll need to improve the antenna, but trying to learn the software not and antenna when snow melts.
Prop test on 12 looks good on WSPR, be there in a sec on JS8
12m looks bleak
I'll be listening so we don't cross each other
Very cool. My auto responses are working today.
Mine appear to be working as well, but hard to really say. I cleared out my whitelist for your excercise a few wks ago, and I haven't repopulated it

Looks like 12m just popped alive abit according to Pskreporter

What is the importance of matching offset in JS8 and how do you manage that in a group chat?
I only match offset if I'm in a one to one QSO. It takes up less space, with the assumption that only one is talking at a time. In a group setting, i don't see it as workable. I try to do tuning and HBs below 1000, though I still HB where i sit.
I'm as amateur as it comes to radio, so anything i say is suspect. |

Three people heard me on 12m. Lol. Band sounds like trash with the tornado system to me east
I'm not getting anything on 12m. I can wait here until band improves this far north or we can try 17m?
I'm sending a SNR request to ARFCOM every couple minutes. |
I've got red cells about 10 miles away and moving in. A narrow line is following. Not nearly as bad as this morning. Have fun, I'm outta here.

Switch to 18.106 and listen to that signal through your CW filter

I'm starting to see a little activity on 12m.

It looks like 20m JS8 is G2G at net time for next week.
I'm on 20m JS8 now if anybody is around. |

My sent messages are showing up in a gray box instead of red font. What does that mean?
I'm not sure, they aren't in the yellow box? All of your msgs have looked complete, except one

Yes, and diamond at the end means complete.

That was cool. Went from 0 to (well not even close to 60). But a good start.
Are you guys running 'AUTO' with or without confirmation ? |

You seem to be getting out well. I think our path is busted. I tried to relay a mag to you through YI, but it failed.
I'm switching over to ghost net on 7107 for a listen. Good talking with you guys. We got to pra tice some msg storing and retrieval |
