look into ready.gov or sc-ems.com for starters, as a basic outline
But building your own is the best way to go!!!!!
PM me and I will send you some specifics, nothing that you can't find on the web, but I will give you some info when I have some time. At work now,

get your torso sized, buy a ruck that fits your budgeta nd fits you. then go from there.
you can go cheap  as in alice pack or fancy dancy super pricey kifaru. then there's tons between.
mils pec style, molle or civy what are you looking for IMHO go witha good made external or internal frame pack.
load it,hump it, repackit.

If this bag is just for gear in your truck use a duffle bag.
BUT imho ifits a BOB it should be a pack thatis made to haul gear not HOLD gear there is a major difference!
there is a BOB thread up top with 100 different replies, reviews and ideas to got hrough you know

there is more to it than just laying out cash and saying "i got a BOB".

it depends on your needs, weather, distance, purpose, ability, etc etc etc.

Thanks

not again.....

Get you a good Civi style pack in a subdued color. I recently purchased a Alps Engineering Denali 5500. Internal frame. I love it. even comes with a rain cover that packs up into its on pouch at the bottom of the pack.

NOW you can do others. I also have a Blackhawk 3 day assault pack that is set up as a sniper/hide pack. It is loaded much lighter weight though. I keep only minimalist items in it (stove, food, water, bivy sack, and ammo).

it's always up to the end user what works the best. But I REALLY like the Alps pack. it works great for me.  YMMV

I just received my Camelback Motherlode in multicam from SKD about a week ago.  Loaded up it fits me great.  I will be taking it on some hiking trips soon to get her broke in.  It is very high quaility and looks like it will last for along time.  I'd recomend it.
