The monolithic handguard ends where the gas block starts so it shouldn't be an issue. Here is a picture of my setup.
It looks like the medium height sights were discontinued. They were on sale on Midway last Fall. I was going to get some but they were sold out by the time I got home that night. Another option would be to put the FSB back on the barrel out further than the adjustable gas block. Probably look tacky, but cheaper. https://imgur.com/FEKrHia |

No other changes yet, the .750 one is what you want, I got the clamp on version, and that sucker is on there. Once I am sure it is what I want I'll rocksett each screw.
if you have the LE901 and not the AR901 like mine you'll also need a new gas tube, armalite ar10 version. I'd also check out the POF dictator if you have the LE model, just not sure they have a gas tube that would work. | I wish so bad that colt had never hired that marine, my dad worked at colt in the 90's and finalized the m4, brought out the defender, govt XSE models, brought back the single action colt cowboy, the CCO and a few other things. When my dad and his buddy joe left nobody there was a gun guy. They basically went over a decade before they did anything new. When Keyes said he's not making guns for thugs and basically shut down the civilian side of the house my dad left. If he had stayed colt would look very different today. If they had anyone that actually liked guns working there they would be so much better off. having a CEO that comes from the furniture industry doesn't get you where you need to be. Colt would do well if they sold those Canadian models down here. |

For those of you wanting to lighten your current LE901 by over a pound, switch to the MLOK upper. We have them for $1,350 and they're just over a pound lighter than the original quad rail model of the LE901

CM762 arrived and it is exactly what I wanted. This would be my fourth, so I've handled the three previous versions and still have 2 of them. Honestly I was kind of just kicking myself while waiting for delivery for not just buying a SCAR-H and being done with the 901 and all the proprietary parts. But I really like it, and will just sell the AR901 to defray the cost. Total was $2100.50 shipped.
Next step is to throw about $3k in parts, optics and suppressor at it. Notable upgrades are magpul pro sights, change in upper design, ambi charging handle is very nice, ambi safety, notched cut for rail. upgrades already in the mail or ready to go are vortex razor E, throw lever, defender caps, geissele mount, SA adjustable gas block, omega suppressor w 51t MAAD, larue mbt, surefire m300, arisaka mount, magpul miad and triggerguard, atlas bipod, radian talon 45 safety, magpul sling mount, 51t brakeout, VCAS sling. I should have everything but the can (a couple more months on NFA) installed this weekend. 
In true colt style, the box tag is wrong, not an 18" barrel

Whoa, WTF? That charging handle? I'm 99.9% sure that's compatible with the monolithic 901 uppers, but can you check if it's compatible anyway? If so I'm going to start HAMMERING every Colt supplier I can find for charging handles. I just e-mailed Geissele for the Nth time literally yesterday asking again if there was a way to get a SCH for the 901 and this time offering to set up a group buy and purchase a minimum number on my own if necessary and they still said no. Forget Geissele, Colt's got my back!
Also nice to see they put the CM901 ambi selector on the CM762 standard now instead of cheaping out with a selector pulled off an AR-15 like they did on the LE901, necessitating going out and finding the correct Colt selector. |

Wow. I didn't even know Colt was reintroducing these. Typical Colt, great product and poor business practices.
I am disappointed to see the move away from the monolith upper. I wonder how much of a Royalty fee LMT demanded per upper? At any rate, this looks like a great rifle. I'm looking forward to further reviews. |

I really feel that the rail is made by someone else. The charging handle has the same mechanism it seems as the gunfighter, probably just paid to use the patent. The rail seems the same, I just can't put my finger on the maker. If that maker made other rails that mounted to a similar dimensioned "nut" the same way, it is possible, but the barrel retention is the same as on the rest of the models, an internal barrel nut, so there is not the option of replacing the nut with a different manufacturers nut and rail.
it is a nice rail though. Basically my perfect rail. Slim no BS, rock solid. if any one wants the dimensions and more pics, just pm me and I'll post them. |

Thank you all for the great CM762 information! I take this to mean that us 901 owners aren't going to be (completely) out in the cold as far as parts go in the future. Now I just need to start bugging Colt to sell the 6.5 upper by itself.
On another note, I think I figured out a way to solution to the 901's overgassing that doesn't involve changing the gas block/front sight assembly, BCG, or buffer out. I will try it out over the weekend if I can escape for a few hours, wish me luck. |

Thanks for the info but it looks like the 6.5 upper sold out quick.
On a positive note for interested parties, my adjustable gas tube experiment worked. Mwahahaha! While it was a pain to pull the gas tube out every time I needed to adjust the setscrew, it was manageable and I got it after 3 adjustment cycles. I ended up closing off the gas port about half way (pic to follow) to function with M80 and a Springco Orange, confirming what we all know, the 901 is seriously overgassed. With the SPECWAR 762 on the front, and running 155-168 A-Max it was much more pleasant to shoot and I did not have the FTE's I was having before, not bad for $6 in tools and parts, with no permanent modification to the rifle.

I just picked up my CM762 yesterday for $1600, the accessory bag was really stingy this time compared to the -16S and -16SE, only ONE Pmag, multisection cleaning rod, otis bore brush and chamber brush. No adapter, sling, 2nd mag, rail sections, or updated manual. On an unrelated note, I now have a MARC 901 with under 400 rounds through the pipe in need of a good home, does anyone know what the going rate for one would be? |

| I’ve been looking at purchasing a CM762-16S but there is very little information floating around. Is this just a LE901-16S with some cosmetic differences? I would think this rifle would be a lot more popular and am beginning to think that the lack of reviews and information on the internet could only mean that it’s a for a reason. |
