Mine is out for delivery, but probably won't be able to pick it up until Sunday.

Picked up the rifle on Tuesday. Swag arrived yesterday. Bonus ammo from LT is out for delivery today. So far the thunder bumpers are holding off. It is looking good for squeezing in a quick trip to the range after work.

ill have a 100 yard 3 shot group the day after I receive the rifle. I figured I would try a 3 shot group with the optic the rifle came with, and ill see what I can do with my Mark 4 after that. I have not got a tracking number yet. But I am more than patient!
Does anyone have a good method for posting pictures other than photobucket? Will my pictures only show up as links until I have been on the site longer?? |

At the range this evening with three Grendel's. http://www.ar15.com/media/mediaFiles/60910/20170713-174903-253199.jpg http://www.ar15.com/media/mediaFiles/60910/20170713-174641-253202.jpg The FDE is really fantastic. Light weight, pleasure to shoot, and I'm liking the hand guard a lot. First experience with a key mod and am very impressed. If any of you all have mis givings about that, don't, would be my advice. It's certainly different from my tOBR's, but it handles really well. http://www.ar15.com/media/mediaFiles/60910/20170713-182921-253197.jpg I tried three different loads, AA 120 ballistic tips, Hornady Black, and a handload I use with one of the others. It likes the factory Hornady the best, so far. Sorry about the penmanship. That's the handwriting of a guy well on his way to a heat stroke. View Quote |

http://i1291.photobucket.com/albums/b552/Swifteagle767/LaRue%20Grendel%201_zpsr2yi1wfo.jpg I love this rifle. The Burris is a very nice scope and will be a great piece of kit for hunting. I would like to mount one of my NF scopes on this rifle just to see what kind of groups she can shoot because this rifle is a pleasure to shoot. Got to the range and found the both 100 yard lines closed for maintenance. Luckily they had opened the 100 yard line on the old 200/300 yard range. That old range runs East - West so I had to fight the setting sun shinning directly down my scope while getting rained on. Oh well the worst day at the range beats the best day at the office. I had planned to shoot prone but the 100 yard line on this old range sits low and I had 50 yards of tall grass in my line of sight blocking the target. The 200 and 300 yard lines are on top of berms as this particular range was intended to be a 200 and 300 yard range only. The only real problem with not being able to shoot prone was that the bench was short and I could not move the rifle far enough to the rear to get the muzzle close enough to the LabRadar when shooting suppressed. So I was not able to collect any MVs while shooting with the TranQuilo. First shots of the day: http://i1291.photobucket.com/albums/b552/Swifteagle767/LaRue%20Grendel%2001_zpstrjqcunf.jpg Second group: http://i1291.photobucket.com/albums/b552/Swifteagle767/LaRue%20Grendel%2002_zps87guny6f.jpg Third group: http://i1291.photobucket.com/albums/b552/Swifteagle767/LaRue%20Grendel%2003_zpsmtqc0ik6.jpg Not bad for a 1.5x6 Burris. The suppressed groups started off even better than unsuppressed but the combination of the setting sun and the mirage off of the suppressor started making it more difficult to hold a tight group. View Quote That looks pretty sweet with the Tranquilo on. The SOT that has mine is close to the range I've been using. May have to invite him out. Good shooting too by the way. Looks like you're doing pretty well without the Nightforce. |

I sighted 2 dozen of them in today.
Real pleased with rifle to rifle consistency. |

For those that got the optic deal, did it ship installed on the rifle or did it arrive separately?
|
|
^^^
Probably separately, and speaking of optics, I'm headed out back right now to sight in 2 dozen more - it's hot, so sweat in my eyes will open the groups up. |

Card charged 7/11, rifle GTG. But I am sure they are sightingmthem in as fast as they can. Card locked on 7/10, so suspect that did not help my ship date.

Picked up my gun but no scope package yet, don't know if I can take the wait.might just have to start with a scope off the fde heavy
What's up with mailing the scope two days after the gun is this some new sort of torture? Good thing I stocked up on ammo I can always borrow a scope from somewhere that's the joy of the QD mount.supposed to be 92 and sunny now the decision is to boat or shoot? Dam the first world problems. Pete |

So any idea on how "limited" the run is?
This is my first LaRue limited run I got in on.. after I saw how good the last one was ... had checked out and got the order confirmation email in the first 4 min... But they are still up for sale 2 weeks latter.. turns out I did not have to not go to work early that morning to get in on it lol Still cant wait to get the rifle.. Have not bought any ammo yet.. but the Hornaday black seems to the the one that you can get your hands on real easy... And seems to be getting good results.. Any other factory options.. as I would rather shoot than reload lol |

I did the same thing. Ordered within a couple of minutes because I saw the first 762 FDE's go in just a few minutes, and when I saw them in person, I regretted not getting one. I definitely don't regret ordering this one, early or not. It's an awesome rifle that more than lives up to my expectations, and I've been wanting one for 9 years now. Wait 'til you get your hands on it. You'll see what I mean. View Quote |

That's basically a 556 tOBR converted to a Grendel with a barrel I had chambered just for that gun. Did that about a year ago, as I liked the lightweight tOBR, but wanted something a little bigger to hunt with and didn't know when LaRue would start making Grendels. It has worked great, I love the gun, especially for it's intended purpose. Only shot two deer last year and they were both taken with that rifle. The 8 pointer that I shot went straight down where he stood and I was using a 123 grain aMax hand load. Having said all that though, and as much as it's one of my favorite rifles, I wouldn't recommend going through all that if you want a LaRue Grendel. That gun is a purpose built, good looking 100% LaRue Tactical, and still available on the website. View Quote |
