Who's comin? |
Won't be able to make this one - I'll be in the hills of Western PA. I'll be there next week though, to tune up for Minifest and the plate shoot at Tusco.
Doggonit.
That is the day of the John C. Garand Match up at Camp Perry. I'll be on the line with almost 1500 other Garand shooters, trying to get a bronze medal. |
Well this sucks. Let me get ahold of mmsig229 and see what's up. What about the 14th if he can make it?
where is grand river range? im from lorain county and if you guys would not mind, i might come and join ya.
Take 480 East to 422 East. When you get to Parkman (in Geauga County) turn North on 528/88. When you get to where 88 cuts off and goes east, follow Rt. 88. You'll go through a little burg named West Farmington, cross SR 534 and go until you get to the next cross road. It's about 3-miles after Rt. 534. There will be a small Div. of Wildlife sign that has "target range" on it on the North side of the road. Turn North. The road dead ends at our rifle range. Make sure you pick up a range pass before you come. We don't sell them at the range. You can purchase the pass anywhere you would get a hunting or fishing license. The price is $5.00 for a day pass or $25.00 for a season pass. Since this will be your first time, you'll get a quick briefing on how we run the range. If you go out on a weekend, just ask for Tom and I'll give you the briefing.

Why not do it this weekend? The last two weekends have been dead. I need some entertainment!
I would do it this weekend except I have to attend the wedding of one of my Lodge Brothers(who by the way has a curio and relics FFL). You gotta check out my new wagon at the next shoot Groucho. |
hmmmmm...I should be able to make it the 14TH........I think we should award a trophy to the best red wagon......To the newcomers, we'd enjoy meeting you and feeding after. Watch out for Capitalist though, he's been known to eat off other peoples plates when they're not looking.
14 August? No can do. I've got a wedding I have to attend. One of those family things a guy just better go along with. he
Groucho |
There will be plenty of time at future shoots for wagon inspections I'm heading to a wedding myself in 2 hours. |
Be careful Bro Capitalist...You could be next!!!!!!www.NoMarriage.com!!!!!!
Well I'll be in PA on the 13-14th. I might head out on the weekend of the 7th though. I'm planning on heading down to minifest for at least one of the days though. That should be fun. Hope to se you guys there.
Also the shoot in september cannot be on the weekend of the 4th or 11th. I 'll be gone those weekends and the whole intervining week. I've got to get to one of the GR shoots this summer. |
If I'm not traveling on the 14th, I'll be there. Where do you guys eat now that Blazin' Bills has blazed?
I was there today. Great day to shoot. |
hey Gary, it's about time you showed up!!!!!I hear lunch is on Capitalist...
Bill and I don't start "Traveling" again till September. Inside joke |
AAAHHHHHHHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!! Remember I'm the one that's losing weight right now by eating one meal a day. I couldn't afford to feed you two beefeaters |
I'm in. Tune up time for mini fest for any who venture out to Black's farm the following week.
Besides, shootin & eatin are the second and third best things in life. (apologies to Lee Marvin in "Cat Balou" <sp> for sort of ripping off the quote.) |
Niether. You're supposed to pay. The new guy always pays Start time is noon. |
Beautiful!!!!I rode right past GR today with my MC gang. We took 88 all the way to Sharon PA. We were in a feeding frenzy at Quaker steak & Lube. I was thinking of you guys with each and every garlic wing consumed........
I am planning on attending.
It will be nice to meet everyone. Bob |
I was picking up my son from Camp this afternoon and saw Sig dutifully chasing tail lights. I was gonna yell something but didn't want to give him a heart attack or anything like that.
So what time are we all meeting up and is there going to be feeding afterwards? (like I have to ask the second part)
I figure between 11:30-12:00. That's when everybody usually gets there. You're right you don't need to ask about the second part. Bro Bill gets cranky if he doesn't get his massive amounts of BBQ pork You gonna join us afterwards Eddie or are ya allergic to BBQ sauce? |
Shotar, is she at the YMCA Camp????if so, my niece is there also this week. She's in the horseshow tomorrow...Eddy....if you're nice, I may remember to bring your SWAT tape.......
So we are meeting at about noon... when does the range actually open?
WB Bob, the range is open 9-5PM. We usually start cleaning up about 4:30, and split about 4:45PM......Barney get anxious about that time because his trees need pruning and he wants to get home...
It's more like your stomach starts growling at 4:30 PM and then you start getting cranky because you want food... |
It's about time you got back Eddy...Are you now a liberal?????
WB Bob I don't know if you've been to Grand River Range before, but you need to purchase a one day pass for the ODNR range at any place that sells hunting liscenses for $5 before you can shoot. I don't want you to make the trip without purchasing your permit beforehand. I look forward to throwing lead with you |
I have the pass. I bought it online at the ODNR website.
I will be getting there earlier than noon, probably about 10am or so. Bob Edited to say... I look forward to meeting you and Bro. Bill. I'm curious if your description of Bro. Bill is accurate. |
BANG..BANG..BANG...HEY, YOU GUYS STARTED WITHOUT ME!!!!!I'M GETTING INTO THE BLUE STREAK AS WE SPEAK!!!
Where did you guys end up going to eat?
It was a pleasure meeting and shooting with all you guys (and Brothers). |
I just want to know if the range barney ticketed him for reckless operation? Its also good to see that Capitalist had the target surrounded.
Damn!!!!From the looks of us, we should spend more time working out with WB Illigb, and less time at the Post House!!!!!
Sorry I missed you folks. It's always a good time when you come.
Poor Rodney Steel Frame and his family. All Rodney wanted to do when he grew up was to be a target frame at the Grand River Target Range. That was his life long ambition from the time he and his brothers and sisters were billets in the steel mill. They hoped and prayed that they could be proud steel target frames. They got their wish and were so proud. Then, the heartless Huns from AR15.com drilled him and his (formerly) happy family. Sad, so sad. And there was a wagon accident!!???? Good thing I was at the wedding. If I had been working the range, it would have been tickets for everybody! BTW, Barney is no longer at the range. He transfered to another location. (What's that sound I hear?) Well, I hope to see y'all at the next shoot. I'll have my tire depth gauge so I know the wagons are safe. Thanks for coming to our range and keep them all in the 10 ring. Groucho |
Eddie"Engineer" blew apart his target frame just as bad as I did, but he had the camera so mine was the only one that had a pic taken of. You missed out. You didn't see my new wagon. Of course everybody threw thier stuff on my wagon so they wouldn't have to carry it. Did Barney end up doing his first love "planting trees" or what? |
Capitalist, we figured you could use some exercise along with your new diet!!!!when are you installing the spinners on your wagon?????
I gotta check wit my "Homies" and see if I can find some chome rims with the gold spinners. If you buy them "Hot" they're pretty reasonable in cost |
