ChelleShooter told me that she'd like to try this out Tweak. I think it's a hell of a good idea too.
I too have done some firearm training, at our local club, for some first time shooters. One thing that I'm sure of is that 'more IS better', when it comes to training. (Strat, can you hear the echo?  ).I've given ChelleShooter a crash course only so far, as she's a brand new shooter. But, there's much more for new shooters to learn than any one person can teach in an afternoon, or even in a lifetime, and the broader the resources she uses, the more comprehensive understanding she'll gain, and ultimately, the more capability. Very cool offer Tweak!!  Edited because I need more coffee before posting in the morning....

reading this book put it to the forefront of my mind
 some of these......hominids had over 200 rapes (each progressively more violent) before they were arrested. the book is f'ing terrifying. our people need to know how to shoot. |

I've always wanted more training with firearms. I don't know anything about any of the guns I shoot. I don't even know how to clean the dern things. I just know what bullets go where and how to work the safety and how to point and pull the trigger.
Maybe Tweak you can tack a forum on the woman's forum with basic rifle 101 - cleaning, care and ballistic?

I could put something together from the handouts I've used in the past if you want to clear it with the Den Mother.
Was thinking for the proposed class starting a little...simpler tho, the basic basics, and no, not safety so much as technical and historical overview. |

I'll see if MrsK is interested. She likes shooting, just doesn't like anything with recoil. So she pretty much sticks to the .22s

That's an excellent idea. Would you mind if I sent my mom? I get frustrated when she doesn't retain info and it's kinda hard to keep objective--she's my mom, she should know everything, right?
Also, what are your impressions of FAS? I've thought about taking some of their courses. |

TACOMA, Wash. – Three Tacoma women were terrorized in their home and one of them was raped. Now police are warning women to keep their doors locked until the suspect is caught.
Police say that the attack occurred somewhere in the area of 6th Avenue between Sprague and Pine in Tacoma around 2 a.m. Sunday morning the person on the loose should be considered very dangerous. According to police, a man sneaked into a home through an unlocked door. Once inside, he pulled a handgun, tied up two female roommates, and then raped a third. According to Mark Fulghum, Tacoma Police, the suspect stayed in the home for 2 hours. All three women are said to be in their twenties. The suspect was wearing a ski mask. He is an African American with a medium build. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- That should help motivate those who were a bit reluctant to always have some precious metal nearby at all time. It would've been nice if some precious lead had gone into that sonofabitch's CNS. |
