the Mechanical Aptitude test, smaht stuff, pullies, circuits, gear ratios etc...
Tried taking it while fielding calls here at work and only got a 78%, though I didnt see any questions on when and how to use a BFH, bailing wire, brakleen or duct tape |
I pulled a %78 - and I say fuck 'em.
Decelleration is not a recognized physical term. It's all accelleration, increase or decreasing. I still make MacGyver drool |
And I can make a sprocket out of a gum wrapper and a paper clip, but that didnt help out much |
88% for me. I'd have felt really bad if I did any worse, considering I just graduated from OSU as a Mech E.
88% for me as well.
the second to last question was kinda confusing, they didn't word it very well. |
I only got an 80% and I KNOW I'm more than 2% smarter than petagunner.
Says who? |
Crap, I just realized it was a FORD test. No wonder a couple of the scenarios are bogus. The first electrical schematic with the short in it... all three bulbs would light up until one of them acted as the fuse, since there was not one included in the circuit.
Freaking Fordmaroons. ETA: or... Asa can correct my assumption. |
I managed 74% and I'm an artsy type that designs frocks and pants for a living, should I be worried if all it takes is another 6% to start designing engines for Ford.......(looks alarmedly at his fusion. )
i got a 70 % i must be the retarded redneck you don't
want working on your car . |
86% for me. Should have been 88% as I marked one and moved on. Didn't know how to go back and change my answer.
82% here. Would have been 86% but I somehow transposed two different answers in the time it took me to look from the diagram to the choices. Ah well.
Fun test though. |
Start a new thread with a poll and you will get your answer. |
Not if I put "I like pie" as a 3rd choice Besides, what gives pickin on the redneck anyways? |

Damn...Only 94% here. Damn pulleys and pressure. Although I did remember my PV=nRT

You are a moderator. It's part of 'the code.' |

92... It has been a long time. Funny that we all probably nailed levers and turning, but pulleys and what not
88% btw |
96%
All those years of Hot Rod magazine have finally paid off. |
Ha, so did I! |
Fun test for a for an old mechanic like myself-94% should have got them all right though
VM |
Gehhhhh 82%
But I allready had a 2 hour personality/math/social skill test today to fry my brain... The stuff you go through during the interview process... |
How's your knees? |
Not bad, remembered the knee-pads.....but the top of my head is missing a little more hair...they really need to start adding padding to the bottom of desks.... |
Instead of velcro? How else are they gonna keep you around? |
Damn, only got an 80%, good thing I don't work on cars for a living.

I should havce had more since I did go to school fo rthat shit. Granted it was 15 yrs ago, the mind is the first thing to go. Time to get Viagra.. Darin |
92%
ETA. Fan question is fucking stupid. screwed up the hydraulic problem, the balloon one, and the engine intake one (Technically correct I suppose, but both answers are really the same thing.) Reminds me of the mechanical portion of the ASVAB... |
Intake-Compression-Power-Exhaust.........4 stroke is easy...waiting for RD to try and explain how a Rotary works without making our heads explode...
" ...Now picture a triangle wobbling around in an oval.....no, now follow me here....no, there's no valves....yes, it will run on it's own......" |
I usually just lurk hear, but this drew me out.
Anyways, 84 for me. I really should have scored more like a 96% except for the fact that I ran out of duct tape and bailing wire. Also I'm just not that smart. |
