If your fav isn't on the list, just post it below.

There are only five voting spots but many great cartridges out there.

eta  It's a two for one deal since you can run .38 special through a .357 magnun revolver.

Why not just have the .357 & .38 the same  and replace .38 with .45LC?

Blasphemy!  .38 is major weak-sauce and has no business sharing a vote spot with the mighty .357 Magnum.

Besides, I can't change it at this point.

HUNTING - .44 Magnum.  If there's something in the woods so big that a .44 won't drop it, I will be content to leave it alone!

HOME PROTECTION - .357/.38 because it's cheap to practice/plink with and because my wife can use it too.

+1

My wife can practice with the .38spl and use .357 for self-defense in the home.  I've had her shoot .357 but for the range it can be unnecessarily punishing.

.22LR/WMRF

I have plenty of the others, but I shoot the .22s (for fun) much, MUCH more.

(FWIW, I only use autos for CCW, HD, etc.)

45 Colt.  35gr. FFg. black powder and a 250gr cast bullet.  Awesome.  Try it sometime. I guarantee you'll be impressed. Lots of bad guys bit the dust to that load.

For every 1 357 mag, I should at least 1,000 38spls.

My favorite lately is .44Special.....accurate, very little kick...I like it.

I think that .357Mag is probably the most versatile, while .44Mag is just a great knock down round.

Still, this point in time for me....I like the .44 special for target shooting.

44MAG in a Smith model 29.  Powerful enough to be a lot of fun without being too punishing to shoot a lot.  It can also be handloaded to fit almost any occasion.

No its not, I've seen his 500 S&W 5 shot snubnose airlite revolver.  Sure it will break your hand if you fire it, but it only weighs 7 ozs loaded.
