I thought I read a post from Magpul that they weren't available to the general public yet.

Can't swear to it though.

I have a bunch of G21 mags.  I'm going to try out one of those extensions, as soon as I can find one.

I have been looking for these since I read about them.  I hope they work.  MagPul makes good stuff so I am more hopeful then if some other company tried to make it work.

Seems to me that they'd work in our Glocks, if they work in that KRISS subgun!

Seems to me they'd also work on G20 mags.  Anybody got any ideas about that?

If you get +17 in .45ACP, I wonder if you get a couple more in 10mm???  I'm sure as heck gonna give it a try, as soon as I can find some in stock.

Have a friend who has the Kriss rifle and the Glock 21 looks very nice with the mag sticking out!  Haven't shot the mag yet but I'll snap some pics when I hit the range.  Hope he doesn't look for the mag after the range session

Where is your local range?

My local range has them for sale. Three different flavors.
1- Just the extension.
2- Extension installed on a new G21 magazine.
3- Same as #2 but with a Lula\Uplula loader (Can't recall that last detail).

Approx prices:

1- $26
2- $49
3- $89

Bought a single #2. Loaded it with 30 rounds of S&B. Perfect functionality out of my
Model-30 (Didn't have the 21 with me).

A crappy picture for your viewing pleasure:

A note on the magazine: You get down to loading the last two rounds and it does get a smidge difficult. Not as bad as brand new G-30 mags but it can be a pain. Smacking it baseplate down into your palm helps.

So would an UPLULA!

Very true but my hand is free.

***Not to mention it's one less thing I have to worry about losing.***

Just an FYI for folks with magazines that have the old style followers: You'll want to get new style followers if you go with the "Extension Only" option.

I just tried using 2 of my old, non-drop free mags with "Extension Kit" (Yes, I'm weak and bought two of them so I'd have three 30 round mags) and the follower doesn't allow the spring to seat and it kicks over about half way through the extended mag body.

A few pics below for illustration.

Old Follower with the new extension spring which is the same as a standard new Glock spring:

Current Follower with new extension spring which is the same as a standard new Glock spring:

A group shot.
-Left Side: Current follower with current Glock spring.
-Center: Old follower with old Glock spring.
-Right Side: The magazine extension spring from KRISS.

At least new followers are cheap and easy to install.

Bump!
Anyone ever find an online merchant that sells these?

I installed the extension on some old G21 mags and they seem to work out just fine, even with the old style of follower.

I didn't know that the new style follower could be used in the old mag bodies though, if so I'll order up a few.

Thanks,
Scott

You've ran a full load through them and all was well? Cool. At least someone has better luck than me.

Yours didn't function with the old follower?

Negative. Hence my post with pics above. I'd get about 15 rounds through an attempt and the old follower would tilt and jam at the junction of the extension and the main mag body.
New follower worked great.

***And for the record I'd like to state that I love\hate getting new magazines. The testing proceedure is somewhat harsh on the wallett. Especially new 7.62x51 magazines. ***

I picked up some extensions today.
I will try them on my G20 mags as well as the G21 and post later tonight.

Edit:

No joy with the 10mm mags.  The internal volume is smaller and the springs won't fit.
Put on two of the extensions on the G21 mags and they cycled fine.
Initially I had one mag that would only take 28 rounds, the "ears" that lock in the lower inner sleeve were a little too far in and hanging on the spring.
I shaved the internal surface to round it off just a bit and now works fine.

I'm assuming you picked them up locally or did you buy online?
I have been looking for these and none of the usual places have them.

Local, sorry.
I checked the TDI website and a local shop was listed as a dealer.
I took two to the range today and they ran flawlessly.
Now I am just waiting for Lone Wolf to get their long slides done

I picked up two extension kits today locally. Everything went smooth. I can't wait to try them at the range this weekend.

The kits are very solid and seem to ooze pure quality.

Now if only LW Dist would make the long slide, I too would be all set!

just picked one up today for my g20 - no luck either...
turns out i have the old follower, so looking to get a new one & try again.

it will cycle about 10 rounds. then the follower tilts to the side, right when it gets to original mag.

like the capacity though (34 was last i could squeeze by hand)
hope i can get it to work.
if not, guess i will have to get a g21 or a Kriss
