It said, right there in the title, that it was going to be gross.

But I just had to click anyway.

Hope it's not too painful, twonami.

I am sory that your ND resulted in hurting your hand. I had one too, but only shot the floor with a 22lr.

ND into your hand?  Got full use? Heal quickly, and learn that hard lesson. Sory man.

This is follow-up surgery. The main surgery took place a little over a year ago on March 10th.
This recent surgery was to free up a tendon.
Whenever I made a fist it looked like my ring finger was standing straight-up, kinda like flippin someone off
The damage was caused by Black Hills redbox 9mm +P hollowpoint 147 gr.

tag for the backstory...

What kind of gun?
What lead to the accident?
How bad was the pain?
Would you volunteer again just to show us how weak 9mm is?

XD 9mm
Stupidity and gun cleaning "I swore the gun wasn't loaded"
First reaction was "oh shit 1,2,3,4,5 still there"
2 seconds later amazing burning
5 seconds later the pain started kicking in

Accident occurred on March 10th 2005, This was the condition on March 20th.
Blew out the one in the hand to the pinkie. Required a bone and skin graft from the right hip for repair and rerouting of artery from index finger to bone graft site to nourish the bone.

The external fixator on the back of the hand developed a staph infection which required additional surgery to remove it and 7 days of IV anti-biotics.
Most of the hardware was removed after 2 months leaving only the tube sticking out of the side of the hand. The tube consisted of a syringe filled with cement and 2 stainless steel post stabilizing my bone structure.

They removed all the hardware early June 2005. The sensation of the steel pins being removed can best be summed up as a teeth pulling and a kick to the nuts at the same time.
Lots of time was spent in rehab getting the hand working again and additional surgery was planned for March of 06 to free up the stuck tendon.

(the band-aid was for a minor cut)

The following is the most recent work done in early March 06'

and the bandage off at the top of the post.

I'll say it.

If it was a .45 you wouldn't be here to talk about it.

Seriously, from the first pic I thought it was a shitty job on some kind of finger surgery........ and then I saw the earlier pics. I guess you're lucky to have all your fingers.

Sorry that shit happened.

BS, Someone here did the exact same thing with a .45 black Talon and they are fine. He's going thru pretty much the same surgery as me.

Dude, you were/are seriously blessed and you should've played the lottery that day. I'm neither a doctor nor an expert on handgun wounds but, from the looks of some of those pics, it seems to me that you could have seriously lost your entire hand to amputation surgery. I bet it hurt like hell.

Oh, I bet the insurance company just loves you by the way.

Seriously, please be more careful next time.

No statement yet on the latest but I'll post it as soon as I get one.
