i was a member in the 90s when bill was president. but in 99 i renewed and they never sent me my magazine or cap. most of you a member? i might rejoin. how much nowdays?
Member. It only cost me $10/yr without the magazine. I can read it at the barber shop. You should rejoin.
There is absolutely no reason to not be a member if you care even the smallest bit about the 2nd ammendment and gun ownership.
Why would I want to belong to an association of crazy redneck gunowning racists???
I'm a member.
I wish they'd do a LOT more to restore gun rights in this country, but I figure the membership is worth it simply because politicians look at how many members they have and try to extrapolate and predict voter responses based on that. |
I'm a member and I didn't get a hat.
That's it. I quit. I do get American rifleman monthly without fail.. |
You have hair--only bald guys get hats. <--bald guy I checked the calendar--the NRA love/hate fest was due. Carry on! Oh, life member here--both NRA and ISRA (Illinois). This thread will end with one bottom line: There is no good reason for a firearms owner to not belong. Period. Make whatever BS excuse(s) you wish, but there is no good reason to not belong. |

I'm a member and I buy memberships for my dad and brother every year, they never call me or send me shit in the mail, oh wait I asked them not to and they didn't, could it really be that easy
Been a member since 2004. Just reupped for another year a few weeks ago.
I wish they would work to get the 89 and 86 bans overturned, but I guess I'll take what I can get, which is relatively decent defense of our firearm rights..... |
im gonna get "american rifleman". hows "america's first freedom" magizine?
Yippers and I got my stainless steel bullet signed by Wayne to prove it...
I prefer America's First Freedom. Good stuff. It's mostly the political angle of things. |
I am the NRA, Life Member
Easy Pay Life is the way to go. I take both 1st Freedom and Am Rifleman, I forget which one I pay extra for. |
I think the people who work the gun shows etc.. give out hats when you join. If you just mail in the renewal each time you do not get a hat. If you want hats, join or start a "Friends of the NRA" committe in your area. It is a great thing to do and a lot of fun. You put on a fundraising dinner each year and get to give away lots of guns and other great stuff. If you are on the committe you get to help pick what merchandise you want to have at your event. You go out and get people to donate, underwrite, sponsor etc............ And you get a "Committe Member" hat each year! If you are the Committe Chairman, you get a "Chairman" hat. I have a Chairman and 10 Committe hats |

As a poor college student, would the $10 associate membership suffice?
Been a member since 02, when i turned 18. I really enjoy American Rifleman, one of the few gun rags that has diverse content and interesting articles.
member... not officially a "life" member but I will always renew the membership.
Yes, I am an NRA life member, BUT, I am very disgruntled in the LACK of action the NRA takes in California. It's as if they WANT California to have strict gun control to use US an an example of "what can happen to your state if you don't join". I FULLY believe that if the NRA were to bear down upon California with it's full might, we'd see welcome change in our political climate.

Every little bit helps! Trey |

Easypay is $25 every three months. Added bonus: the junk mail and phone calls ended when I went from a yearly membership fee to life member. Shok |
Thats OK you can have mine! You are not missing out on much, Its a 10 gal mesh baseball cap that stands 12" off your head. Ok I exagerate but fungy still. lol Id rather not have gotten it, a .10 pen would have been more useful. |

As with any lobbyist group, the NRA can't do anything without sufficient in-state votes to put the muscle behind their position. The CA state government knows that the NRA doesn't have enough CA voters behind it. If the government doesn't fear the voters numbers, why would it listen to the NRA? They have to pick their battles where they can win them, and for now that's not in CA (or NY, or HI or anywhere else where there aren't sufficient percentages of gun rights voters) No amount of NRA ads on TV will change opinions. The NRA doesn't change voters opinions-individual gun owners change voters opinions. |

Yeah I'm a member. I love all the "junk" mail I get from them.
Yes. I joined when they got the injunction against confiscation after Katrina. When I see some accountability(IOW, people being charged for their crimes) I will join for another year.
Life Member since '84. Wife got life membership for me for Christmas present that year. Best gift I've had in a long time. Best bargain going if you are young enough.
